With a little luck those who said we were living the glory days may have been wrong.

The glory days are still ahead of us, just wait until last years class and this years class are running things.

We will certainly become more dominant when Saban retires as well, as much as I hate to bring bama into it.

first of all, there is no such thing as an apex of LSU football. LSU has been playing for over 100 years and there has been a number of ebbs and flows and that will continue depending on the quality of the HC. the program itself is top notch and will continue to be as long as fans continue to put it as such a high priority in their lives and continue to pony up their bucks to suppordt the program.

Yes... and No. The past 10 years have been the best in LSU history! It could/should have been better. Thinking "realistically" about BCS championships is routine and each week the games are riveting. The best may be yet to come but I appreciate the past decade as well. Geaux Tigers! Les Miles and staff are doing just fine!

I'd be surprised if we didn't win a championship in the next 5 years.

After Saban leaves Bama to either retire or whatever, I think they will plunge back into mediocrity. No factual basis to this, just my feeling.

On the other hand I think if Miles retired within the next 10 years, we would continue to chug along. I base this off the type of coaches and programs these are.

LSU
- is the only major school in a state rich in talent, Saban and Miles have established a dam around LSU where the wall cracks or leaks only one or two we want a year, but never blows straight open.

- Miles is mostly a CEO coach and within the next two years will be a full CEO/Mack Brown/Bobby Bowden type of coach who just maintains a balance of the entire operation. This will allow the next coach to ease into a pretty smooth operation.

Alabama
- is in a state with a second big name school in Auburn. Losing the best coach(Miles and Meyer could argue this in 10 years) of the past 25+ years would drop any school for a few years. What is worse for them is that that state is average in talent and is usually halved by Auburn. Would the next coach be as incredible a draw for outside Bama border recruits?

- Saban has his hands in all the cookie jars, micro managing every little thing like the Eye of Sauron(little nerdy I know). So it won't be like losing a guy that kept the ship straight or a high ranking officer controlling a unit of a military. We're talking the General and major portions all the way down to the Sergeant.

I love how folks forget

Without LSU...bama doesnt know who $abun is

bama has nothing to do with LSU's future
LSU does

And Miles and Co. have been doing arguably the best job at building this team for the future.

As far as that other school goes....let them boast of champeeonships (In my best redneck voice) with asterisks everywhere. Perhaps they can boast about needing rematches or week schedules. I for one dont give flying rats arse wtf they spew.
