Offense is peaking. Pitching is not.

I would like this team to have Twin Peaks and then beat up a bunch of opposing baseball teams.

I think people are incorrectly taking the OP's tone as negative. I think the OP was trying to say we have been consistently good all year, but is it possible we can be even better.

It really is amazing how this board has almost conditioned the posters to automatically find the negative in someone's post.

This is a special team this year and I agree that they can still get better. But other than the bulpen early and the starting pitching lately, the defense, hitting, and base running have been firing on all cylinders all year. No slumps. No peaks. Just good, consistent baseball. And in a really tough conference no less.

Nope, like any other sport I think the players are battling mental toughness more than physical. I've been watching college baseball all year and even if they were in a decline at this very moment they still look better than any other team I've seen play. Only gripe I really have is some inconsistencies on the mound but that's usually overshadowed by our vicious offense. And for that reason I plan to head to Hoover Saturday morning to watch this unfold in person!

Saying that a team has peaked is something that you can only say after unexpected losses occur or after a decline occurs. It is never meaningful analysis because it's always a review of the past. People can speculate about a team peaking whenever they are successful but that speculation never gets validated until time passes.

Basically, I think I just used a lot of words to say this was a stupid question.

I've never bought into the concept of teams peaking. Each game requires a new effort and garners a variety of results. There are too many variables to be accounted for in the game of baseball for a team to rise and fall in concert.

Regardless if yes on no. " Good Baseball Fortune " must shine on the team who wins it all. I really hope it's this team....
