Does anyone rememeber if he has been ejected since he has been here? I used to love how fired up the team would get after Skip would turn his hat around and get the head bob going.

Not complaining, just wondering

Skip was thrown out exactly twice in his career at LSU. Once in the epic extra inning losers bracket game in the regional vs. Long Beach State in 1997.

He needs to do something to light a fire under this team, this is just pathetic.

92 sec tourney against USCe

Once in the regional against LBSU

Once against FLA for arguing a balk call.

Im sure there are more, those were the only 3 I found so far.

Back to the original question though, any for Mainieri?

If true, then you are correct (he got thrown out against LBSU arguing a balk called on Patrick Coogan). But I don't think it was more than that. He seldom got thrown out. However, he did chew some butt without getting thrown out.

Maybe he was the best at getting a word in without getting ejected haha. Here is what I could find right now...

I have coached baseball many years and played many years and the worse was getting ejected at the plate for just looking back at the umpire and I never said a word!

Don't think he has, which is amazing considering some of the calls during his tenure, I would've been ejected probably twice. Once for that hidden ball trick in the 2008 UCI Super Regional and once in that Kentucky 3 games series at the box in 2007 or 2008 when Ochinko hit that game winning homer that was called back. It wasn't a homer, but letting them celebrate and round the bases and then calling it back was fricking ridiculous

Didn't one of his assistants take the sword for PM that time?

Skip used to argue a lot, but always leave before he got thrown out.

I think sanchez did. I can remember him running out to second and throwing his hat to the ground then going at the umpire.

I had my camera zoomed and ready for the toss when that ball "didn't hit" Nola. The ump didn't wanna hear any of it from PM, but he gave him his 2 cents.

Did they say he leaned into it? I couldn't hear over the din in the grandstand.

TIA

I think they said Nola leaned into to the pitch. That HP ump last night was beyond bad.
