Anthony Jennings Stats

PASSING Stats
YEAR TEAM CMP ATT PCT YDS AVG TD LNG INT RAT
2014 LSU 111 227 48.9 1611 7.1 11 94 7 118.3

Brandon Harris Stats

PASSING Stats
YEAR TEAM CMP ATT PCT YDS AVG TD LNG INT RAT
2015 LSU 148 276 53.6 2158 7.8 13 67 6 130.5

Both had basically an entire sophomore year to compare. If your interested in rushing stats

BH carried 62 times for 226yds and 4 TD's
AJ carried 108 times for 292yds and 0 TD's

Can we agree that Harris is better with more upside than Jennings? Can we agree that Miles made the right call going with and staying with Harris this year?

He must improve a ton next year for us to compete at a high level. With good weapons and a more experienced Offensive line, next year could be fun if he can improve.

thoughts?

I think we can all agree that posting line stats un-formatted is nearly impossible to read...

You should format your post better to make the numbers more clear, but yes, clearly we have improved. We still need to complete 60-65% of passes though.

I'd like to see their rushing stats and 3rd down % as well. The rushing tells how much of a dual threat they were. The 3rd down % is a big one for offensive efficiency

We know Harris is the better of the two. I think everyone just wants more. Personally, I acknowledge that he is a sophomore and will make mistakes.

I'm not worried about his growth. I'm worried about his short throw accuracy/consistency. He's kind of a one throw qb, and doesn't have the short throw in his Arsenal capable of converting consistent first downs.

You shouldn't post your credit card numbers in public.

Just joshin' ya. Good stuff. Love Harris. He's going to win a lot of games in purple and gold.

Please post Mett's first year as a starter so I can correctly gauge Harris's performance as a first year starter.

I would give Harris an B for his first year as a starter.

Harris' numbers were similar to Jordan's 09, which a few of us have said was about what we need LSU's QB to put up to win. difference is Jordan was actually trending up toward the year, and not as all over the place.

I'm hopeful Brandon can smooth out the rough edges in his game and become consistent.

Yes. I believe that.

But, certainly you must see that there is some advantage to having Fournette as a Soph vs.Fournette as a Fresh right?

Marginally improved QB play coinciding with a greatly improved running game.

All in all Harris had about 4 bad passes I could think of last night that keeps me from saying he completely looks like a different QB.

The high pass to to CHI

The miss to TQ

The Int

The pass to LF in the redzone.

He had a few drops and one called back due to a penalty that would have easily put him at over 300 yards and two touchdowns.

He has improved since the aTm game. I am sure Etling will make it an true QB competition in the spring.

They really should let Harris run the ball more.

Harris has to work on his short to medium throws. His completion percentage would be much better if he wouldn't chunk it 20+ yards downfield every time he drops back. The deep balls are low percentage/high reward throws. Most of his throws SHOULD be in the short/medium range....but he has trouble throwing those passes with touch.

Harris is better than Jennings, but far from stellar. I wish they would run him more. That aspect of his game is underutilized.
