he thinks Les Miles decided that he wasn't going to let the offense lose games by playing an offensive philosophy that was too risky in his opinion. This makes sense when you look at the lack of offensive production through the air since then. He also said that most of Mett's passing from last year came on third down situations where it was third and long after two running plays. With this philosophy, Hannagriff said the only way to win is to recruit much better guys than just about everyone else which he credits the 2011 success on.

No, he said that much of Mett's success last year was on obvious 3rd and long situations where a pass play was absolutely necessary to get a first.

We were still just as conservative. Only difference is after run, run on 1st and 2nd down, we had the talent to convert 3rd and long. Miles is broken and incapable of changing.

You know, Jarrett Lee catches a lot of grief over this to this day.

But as I recall, on at least 4 of those pick-sixes, the defender went thru heavy traffic on his way to the end zone.

How come nobody ever gives the other 10 players on the field at those times grief for failing to make a tackle?

it is true.

I honestly believe Miles views offense as a liability that must be mitigated. He's not interested in balance or stats, he's just interested in somehow managing more points than the other team.

We don't blow out anybody anymore even when we dominate the game, except Sam Houston State. It didn't used to be like this.

Hanagriff said that last season as well. We just don't have a good offense period. If you actually go back and look at the 2013 offense with Mett and those guys it was just staright individual efforts that produced those results. Landry made great catches, Odell did the same, Mett put throws in windows that werent even open. Hill was a beast. It wasn't the creativity of our offense or game management. It was four unreal talents winning games in spite of poor playcalling. We were predictable in 2013 as well. The lesser teams just couldn't stop it because the talent was so good. Teams like Bama that have a coach with sense easily schemed for our vanilla offense. I'm tired of this coaching staff period. Clean House!!

Fair but at some point Miles is going to have to get an offense that is somewhat balanced and productive throwing the ball. If he does not he will not be leading LSU too much longer.

I agree, using 2013 as the barometer for a successful offense is two-sided.

If that's true, and if Miles has allowed his teams to blow numerous big games over the years since then due to an inept offense as a result, then The Hat really is the dimmest bulb in the chandelier.

Besides, that 2008 defense was garbage, so his coming to such a conclusion about that season would truly show mental deficiency.

This is now a complaint LSU fans have.

2008 was a long time ago.
I'm not buying that anymore.

His defense was worse than the offense that year anyways.
