has LSU VIOLATED THE U.S. Disability and Handicap Parking Regulations, while trying to get more money, if reported they could loose millions, a lawsuit in Alabama gave millions for non compliance, the rules for a public event are simple, the handicap should be able to use a sidewalk without crossing an active street, having buses to transport them doesn't meet the quilifications

Could you post the law?

Are you sure that there isn't any other handicapped parking closer to the stadium?

Do you know if LSU was able to obtain a special dispensation?

just know that a relative filed a suit in Alabama under similar circumstances and was awarded millions, which was put in a foundation to improve access to public events and buildings

Then why start this thread?

You made it sound as if LSU was about to have the hammer dropped on them.

the first word is "has" which infers a question not a statement of fact, just a question, I have friends who have a problem with the placement of the handicap parking,

Sick burn dude. That wasn't my point. Just the way you wrote your post it looked like there was a serious problem at LSU.

Possibly there is, but I don't know the rules.

the location of the handicap parking is in the baseball parking lot west of the stadium on the west side of the railroad tracks a clear violation of the government rules regarding handicap parking even if transportation is provided to the stadium, it places an additional hardship on the handicapped or disabled

Surely you can't be so stupid as to believe that this is the only handicap parking on campus.

I can somewhat relate to your complaint about parking. I am a current season ticket holder for both football and baseball. I utilize handicapped parking for sporting events on campus, because of my wheelchair (born with spina bifida). For the most part, I think LSU does a reasonable job for accommodating for disabled parking. For football, my parking pass is located in Lot K. (I know it’s been renamed) I like parking there because generally I have enough spaces available to unload my chair, without worrying about someone parking too close for me to get back in my vehicle. For baseball, I haven’t been successful in getting a parking pass, thus often times having to park in the hayfields, if I don’t get to the stadium early enough for the few spaces designated for disabled parking.

A.(1) Each state agency and political subdivision having jurisdiction over street parking or a government facility and each owner or lessee of a public facility shall, in accordance with applicable zoning and building codes, provide and maintain a minimum number of specially designed and marked motor vehicle parking spaces for the exclusive use of persons whose vehicles are identified by license plates, hang tags, or special parking cards for the mobility impaired issued pursuant to R.S. 47:463.4 or 463.4.1

LSU's handicap parking is in a pay lot. They used to allow free handicap by the tennis courts which is still far away from Tiger Stadium.

Other universities (such as Auburn) provide FREE handicap parking to ALL fans. In fact, the Auburn lot is about as big as Lot D and only about a block and a half from the stadium.

information is from the LSUSPORTS.NET, parking by regulation is based on the location of the event, check the map
you just might be the stupid one, the old lot m was the designated handicap parking and met all federal regulations

this thread was started not for my benefit but for those who need to be close to an event and are not given the chance because of limited access provided by the university, in a perfect world, old lots L and M should have been and still should be handicap lots, we that do not need handicap parking should support the people who are by numbers a small group and a deserving group
