gymnastics Team inter-squad meet (Update)

I know many ask for updates on the team
Got to watch some of it this past Friday and wanted to let yall know what I saw:
Vault
Lexi Priessman competed a 1 1/2 (10.0 S.V) and she had fantastic height and a well controlled landing. I expect her, if healthy to compete in the lineup all year.
Sarah Edwards: True Freshman. Competed a full but is working on 1 1/2, which she will have no issues doing. She looked fantastic, form is tremendous. I expect to see her in the lineup all year if she continues.
Ruby harrold looks better than ever. Form has improved tremendously, straight body in the air, bent knees are less noticeable. Controlled landing.
Edney, say no more she is a boss and will completely dominate the country this season, especially on vault
We will like have 5 10.0 vaults this season, maybe 6
Kelley will also see plenty of time on vault, potential is through the roof.
Bars:
Lexi is Lexi, still needs to improve her pak salto (transition from high to low bar) she has a little separation in the air.
Finnegan looks like she did to end the year. Clean form from start to finish.
Ruby is working on new transitions between the bar. her opening transition from low to high bar killed her all last season. Its an extremely difficult transition that she was hammered with deductions on. They will likely water down the routine. The difficulty she does is much more than what is needed at this level
Standley saw action on bars, still needs more time. A bit of form breaks, I expect her to be purely depth at this point.
Erin is also seeing time on bars, she is actually not bad on this event. Excited to see her develop.
I expect Durante to see that other bars spot.
Beam
LSU will be just as good this year with little to no dropoff. Erin and Myia are studs and will be the best 1-2 punch in the country. Lexi and Mckenna are seeing time on beam. Kelley looks good on it. Bridget dean is someone to watch here. She is a true freshman and looks fantastic, she could put up 9.90 + scores for sure
Kirby had a solid routine as well. Beam is her event
Floor
Routines are bein developed at this time, the dance elements are walk throughs. Tumbling passes are landed on a softer surface. A lot are doing new tumbling passes. Desiderio will likely be a on floor immediately, her floor is world class.
The potential of this team is scary. Even though we had major losses, we can just as easy win another SEC title and a national title. A lot to be excited about

Nah we all know our team is hot, it be nice to have discussion about the teams without asking for pics every time

Then come watch with me in person next time
You also have the chance to meet everyone and the coaches sometimes. Plus sometimes there is free stuff involved

Excited to watch this damn strong team compete this upcoming season.
Glad to hear they're watering down Ruby's bar routine.

ETA: what is Bugs Gnat up to?

Coaching us up
She is a student coach this season.
I am sad she retired, her vaults could easily win world medals. She could have easily went elite. She did an amanar before her announcement and she made it look easy.

Thanks! Great update! I do expect b-ball attendance to surpass GymTigers this year though??
Are they considered GymCats? GymPussies? Or GymTigresses? Just wondering how to properly refer to them.

Are practices open to the public or was it just this inter squad meet? If so, when do they practice?

We need more sports to step up.
I think LSU basketball will be a surprise this year.
WBB I don't see it. Still way too many issues
Baseball, Softball, gymnastics are the best chances for national titles as of now

Usually scrimmages are announced on LSU's twitters
Normally Fridays at 130
DD encourages a lot of people to come out and support and watch
She wants people to learn more about this sport. Plus a crowd is helpful for the ladies.
Its open to the public to watch.
There are areas for people to watch. If you have kids, let them come see. They can have pics with the gymnasts

My sister coaches Gymnastics. I was thinking she could take her girls to see one day. Show them how even at higher levels, practice is important and not something to take for granted.

I think we have another one this coming friday

Thanks for all of the great insight on the gymnastics team. This program is so close to winning that elusive national championship. Just need Oklahoma to slip back a little and LSU have that one shining moment on Saturday night instead of Friday and D D and her damsels will be dancing.
The team is so deep that we are only now learning that McKenna can excel at other than floor, although her vault was coming along when she got healthy last year. Edney will be the next superstar it seems, but Lexi is ready to explode onto the scene in a big way also. Maya will be steady all around.
The X factor may be can they replace the leadership of Bugs, Sidney and Shae who took those young ladies under their wings and kept them living in the moment. The last two teams just had that intangible that previous star laden teams did not possess.
