"There’s nothing in a priority list that you would take on a field that would stand above that word, victory."
(From his presser as reported on DandyDon DandyDon in response to addressing some of the stupid penalties/player attitudes)
ETA (see question and response below so everyone can appreciate the full beauty of his oratory skills!):

ETA (see question and response below so everyone can appreciate the full beauty of his oratory skills!):
quote:
On addressing the penalties on the sidelines with the players….
“We occasionally have a conversation that cannot wait until I get to the confines of a locker room. I take that liberty as a head coach to do that, those things that are private in nature, but they’re reflective of what needed to happen and what we’ll need to have happen. I think that the conversation was well-placed and taken correctly. I’m just trying to make sure that our guys understand that it’s about victory. It’s not about who’s tougher. There’s nothing in a priority list that you would take on a field that would stand above that word, victory. To give an opponent 80 yards against that defense, we’ll punt it again.”

In other words,
Shut the frick up, we won bitch.
What else matters as long as we win? Look at my record, I know how to win. Now , get off my jock, I got other things to do like win football games with my damn strong football team. Have a nice day, bitch.

This makes no sense....as is the case with most of the things he says.

I know Les says things strangely at times but it makes perfect sense - I just didn't show enough context in the OP.

Let me bring it down to your level.
"Winning is our top priority, not stats."

This team enjoys victory and so it is.

Poetic version of the Al Davis quote "Just Win, Baby"

It was in response to a question about the personal foul penalties. He stated that sometimes the penalty is committed by someone trying to help his teammate (punt returner, for example) and doing a bit too much or too late.
Les was saying the player has to have that thought in his mind. He was saying that the blocker has to ask himself if it is close, will this block be important enough to be the difference in Victory or Defeat.
If it is not, then the PRIORITY is victory. Therefore, it is best to miss the block than to push the team backwards in a very close game.

Everyone should understand Les Language by now.

Just because your mind, and the path taken of the current coach at LSU consistent brain waives, don't necessarily cross-segment constently, means that sometimes, the cross segmenters waives aren't at that same level of the current coach at LSU's. Everyone has their own particular waives, and sometimes, those thoughts that are played out on the field don't correspond to what the player should be attempting to contribute to victory. Non-victory is never the goal that we try avoid. If you can't understand that, then.......
I am disappoint.

I think some of the posters on this board waived their brains long ago.
