LSU has armored itself against an upset by playing a style short on gimmicks and long on the systematic swallowing of opponents' souls.

That's why Les doesn't lose to teams he shouldn't. Teams actually have to go out and beat LSU; not many have or can.

LSU is a different animal, though. That animal is a tiger, and simply bringing a live big cat to practice, as Huskies coach Steve Sarkisian did this week, doesn't adequately simulate LSU. To provide the proper look, Sarkisian would have had to ask his offensive linemen to block the tiger.

This was the quote from Andy that got me laughing out loud. Great win by the Tigers. This team is very fun to watch.

This is a great description of what I watched in the second half last night.

that is pretty much a fact.

after 08, the mindset has clearly become defined and set in stone.

You may hang a lil bit (WKU last yr, La Tech 09) but in the end LSU's basic's will swallow the opponent whole

I told my buddy that when he kept asking why we didn't pass more in the second half. While I would have liked more live game practice, how demoralizing is it to a defense to have fresh legs relentlessly pounding and gashing them? Swallowing their souls is a pretty good description.

After Ware demolished that DB late in the game I almost started to feel sorry for Wash. They were wore out and knew thy were doomed. Watching it on TV it was clear how utterly beat up Wash was after three quarters of smash mouth.

And our OL still sustaining blocks late in the game says a lot for their conditioning.

That run reminded me why Ware needs to be a bell cow for us. Hilliard is bigger and has quicker feet, but he doesn't deal punishment like Ware does. Both good backs, though.

I counted multple times the ball just went through our hands. The TO's have been there, just haven't squeezed it right. Heck, ball control on both sides could be a criticism, if you just wanted something to complain about.
