I was at Chilis's about to leave. And when he hit it, I said "shite. Pop fly, let's go" because at that point we finished our food and watched a couple of innings after we already paid. I believe it would've only been out number 2. But I wanted to go home and watch it/listen to it on the radio. And when I saw the outfielder stop running, I thought it was gonna bounce off the wall, but it cleared it and I lost my mind and sat back down

Ya know, when people are at concerts recording a bunch of videos and snapchats and shite it's super annoying and they never do it justice.

But videos like this, where a spontaneous event takes place in such a crucial moment... literally give you goosebumps when that crowd erupts. Because you've been there to share moments like these before. Moments you never forget, regardless of it was taped or not. Because you saw it live and you re-see it from your seat in the stadium every time you're reminded of it. Or maybe where you were if you saw it on the television. Maybe you're just a long way from home, and it's things like this that make you feel like you never left. Because you carry this with you everywhere you go. The pride of the purple and gold. And in the end we all see it from the same perspective.

Forever LSU

I just watched the video 4 times in a row. Gave me goose bumps all four times.

When the ball hit the ESPN camera tower, you could feel the grandstands shaking. I wonder if it registered on the LSU Geology Department's seismograph?

That point right when it went over the fence, the camera shook, and the distortion from the cheer.

That was awesome.

True. In my mind's eye, I can still see Skyler Green catch that TD pass from Mauck against Georgia in 03, just as clearly as I could see the hr video linked in this thread.

I was way down the left field line just past the bullpen. I always enjoy tracking fly balls and judging for myself if they have the distance mid-flight. Right off the bat the crowd had a little extra roar and I thought "This thing has a chance"...its at least to the wall I thought, and we can tie it up. Then the very next moment "He did it!" I just have the mental image of that ball with the batters eye in the background watching sail over the fence. Then I started high fiving random people. Quite a moment at the Box

I wasn't there to watch the game. I watched the first half at my house. Then I had some errands to run so I stopped at Chilis to eat and asked if they could put the game on

As I recall, the home run hit the outfield camera. But I don't ever recall a view of the home run from the outfield camera. Does anyone know if they ever showed the home run from the viewpoint of the camera that the homerun actually it?

Yes, it was on the SVP show which was the subject of a thread yesterday.

I'm glad to see it's exactly how I remember it. Off the bat it went to center field and I was immediately disappointed (you can also hear the crowd being hesitant to applaud) because I don't remember seeing a center field home run in Alex box since Mason Katz parked a ball halfway up the batters' eye.

Then it just kept carrying long enough. Couldn't see where it landed but watching the center fielder (and hearing the roar from the left field bleachers all the way across the stadium) confirmed it. That was literally the hardest place to hit it as a lefty. Just a legendary shot.

Your description of this epic event falls so much in line with my recollection..

The doubt and unwillingness to allow myself to think that a ball could leave the park right there made me pause. I kept watching that fast outfielder knowing he was going to track it down at the wall.

Beyond belief, it continued to carry into the evening heat and seemed to launch over the wall. The center fielder drifted back in what seemed like slow motion. He faced the hit and its might in disbelief. The moment became other-worldly as I almost transcended into the arena across the street. The roar was overcome by high pitch wails of excitement and shrieks of utter joy. Death Valley met its match in the fervor of the Box. Two legendary venues face each other, with both capturing many legendary moments which will be relived for years to come.

It was not until Deichman was rounding second base that I came to realize LSU was now in the lead, one which would not be overcome. The adrenaline released within my body caused a rush, followed by much celebrating with my fellow spectators.

Thanks to LSU for giving me the opportunity to enjoy that moment.
