And it's very common for people to leave because they hate their situation regardless of their pay/benefits. My wife is one example. Couldn't stand the people she worked with or for. A "well respected place" that looks great on a resume but she left because her happiness/sanity meant more than that.

Why does it have to be one thing? He was with him for a year. He saw how others were treated too. Maybe there were multiple of instances that built up. Maybe Paul didn't like him either. Like you said, all we can do is guess. But it's not unheard of of a player leaving because he's unhappy. Any program.
