2 plays.
1. 15 yrd personal foul penalty near the fricking goal line.
2. Kicking the fricking ball out of bounds.
3. Failing to tackle Blake Sims in bounds
4,5,6 dropping 3 first down passes, 3!!

1. Coaching- we continue under CLM to get dumb penalities
2. player error- it happens

Google "comments about kickoff against Alabama" and you can choose from a number of articles that explain what happened.
Summary- he just mishit it.

I don't think the kickoff meant much. It only cost us ten yards. As far as impact, it was nowhere near as impactful as the personal foul call or poor officiating at the end of the game.
Hell, as far as mistakes go, Quinn's drop on third down was more impactful, IMO.

Our grave mistake was keeping the game within seven points. Year after year we've watched the SEC HQ intervene and either fabricate a penalty or look the other way when the Gumps commit one. We left an opening for the refs to control the outcome and once again they didn't disappoint.
Until you relocate the HQ and replace the current personnel...NOTHING will change.
You must outplay them by double digits in order to get a close win.

Grave mistake at the end of last year's Bama game?

Jennings interception at the end of the first half that led to Alabama points is often forgotten too.

From the very flat angle he approached the ball, there was no way he could kick it down the center.
Have you ever kicked a ball in your life?
Does your ankle not rotate like mine?

RE:
If you watched that whole game over again as I also endured, you'll remember seeing about 5 facemask penalties on Bama that were NOT called, and the Bama players making late hits and being chippy on almost every play after the whistle had blown. Both teams had been physical with each other with no calls made..
The last personal foul call near the goal line was the clearest example of officials inserting themselves into a game where they don't belong. Everyone was pushing and shoving and some guy had his leg in his arms way after the whistle was blown.

Yeah, it's called Ritter's officiating crew.

In none of these instances was Alabama outplayed by double digits, but they lost them all. Why look for an outside excuse for a loss? Everyone forgets Alabama got the ball down to the one yard line on the first play of overtime, but a very ticky tack personal foul backed them up. The difference is Alabama didn't go into a shell after the penalty, they acted like they had seen adversity before, remained calm, and scored a touchdown on the drive anyway.
That's coaching, not officiating

LSU handed that game to Bama.
so what's new?

why LSU lost that game. It's pretty simple.
2 plays.
1. 15 yrd personal foul penalty near the fricking goal line.
2. Kicking the fricking ball out of bounds.
I think there's a couple more from Bama's last drive in regulation that you could add to that...
3. On one play near midfield, Sims kept the ball and was scrambling. We had a chance to tackle him inbounds short of the first down, which would have kept the clock running with about 30 seconds left and put Alabama in desperation mode. Instead, Sims managed to avoid the tackle and get to the sideline, stopping the clock.
4. Later, still near midfield and facing long yardage with maybe 20 seconds left, Sims was again scrambling and heaved a pass way downfield that was snagged (maybe?) on a diving catch by the receiver inside FG range in our territory.
If either one of those plays had gone our way, it would have been hard for Alabama to get the tying FG.

Another difference (MUCH more significant) was that the personal foul did not create a long yardage situation for them. It was still first and 10. Ours was much different because it created a second and goal from outside the 20. HUGE difference. Nothing about coaching.
And yet another huge difference was that, in our situation, a FG would win the game, barring a long drive in under a minute with no timeouts, so it made sense to play conservatively and make sure we got the 3 points. In Alabama's situation, it was the first possession in OT and LSU was going to get the ball on the 25, so a FG was in no way a likely winning score and playing for the TD made the most sense. Again, nothing about coaching.
So yeah, except for being completely wrong and full of shite, you are exactly right.

This was the BS call of the night that actually affected the outcome of the game. As the replays clearly showed, the Bama DL was actively pulling on LSU OL's leg, I think it was VA, and all he did was shove the Bama guy off and Bama guy flopped.

Domingue was told to kick the ball out of the back of the endzone. He just choked at the worst time possible.
