Gotta give credit where credit is due. JH has nailed the calls of LF's TD runs

Especially his calls in the Auburn game. Masterful.
You da man Jim! Glad you're getting to call all of Fournette's Heisman campaign runs in your final year.
Sorry, couldn't find a decent link to post.

Yup, I'd love for them to send him off with a championship

Though I think it is time for JH to retire, nice to know he gets to call what might be a historic season for LF and the Tigers.

I thought he did pretty terribly for the Syracuse game tbh

It's that damn 11AM kickoff.

On 870AM, usually about 15-20 minutes after the games over they replay the highlights of the game with Hawthorne calling it and it's pretty cool... I try not to miss it every week

Outside of job related excuses, why does one listen to the game?
Posted on 10/2/15 at 10:56 pm to SuperFanDan
I love JH, but the man literally gets paid to do that. I am not praising someone for doing there job.

When you become a rabid fan during a time when LSU isn't good enough to be on TV very much so all you have is Jim Hawthorne, it becomes habit. If I can help it I still prefer to listen to the game first, and watch the replay later. Just my thing.

I've had to listen when I worked a weekend or was out of town before TV deals. But with every game on tv now and watch ESPN app doing what it does, I really don't get the use for radio lovers. The whole "turn down the TV and listen to the radio" is one of the weirdest trends on all of sports. Not for me.

And pertinent information, not what kind of cookies Gary and Vern got on their dessert platter.
