Good offense or good defense?

Which one worries you the most in an opponent? For example, does Ole Miss/Alabama scare you more than a potential SEC Championship matchup against Georgia? Personally, I still don't completely trust Harris to win us a game in which Fournette is kept under control (about 80-100 yards), so a good run defense scares me the most.. What says the Rant?

Fournette was held to 113 against Ole Miss and 76 against Bama "wit tha worst passing game yer ever did see". We won against Ole Miss, and lost in overtime against Bama.
The only difference in this Ole Miss team from last year is no inconsistent QB play, yet. Bama is actually much worse on offense than they were last year, and still has not improved the secondary.
Harris likely doesn't have to win us any games, just not f**k em up.

You'll trust harris by the time we get to bama. The guy is good. Don't worry

Both of those games were at home. LSU will have to either run the ball better or throw the ball better to win those games on the road, IMO.

Harris is good enough just with his legs to keep the chains moving but he will have some nice games throwing the ball as well. He's still proving himself to the coaches but no turnovers in 2 games has to earn him a few more throws and is a very good sign for this team. Man on man coverage with an accurate passer and athletic receivers has upside and they will get their chances. But all 3 of these are capable of beating LSU. LSU is a long way from being a championship team and an injury or 2 to being back to a conservative posture.
Both of these units are capable of dominating football though even against these 3 which makes them extremely dangerous. With further development in the OL and QB which is almost assured and getting Mills back....... I like these Tigers.

Explain how we beat a Florida team on the road that was 13th in rush defense last year? Did you read anything that I said? The LSU OL and Fournette are MUCH improved from last year. Harris is now the QB with a real threat to run, Guice would start for most teams. Doesn't matter if we play them in space, we'll run on em. We averaged 4.8 ypc against Ole Miss last year, and we actually improved on that.
Like I said, we don't need Harris to win the game, he just needs to play not horrible.

A good run defense scares me the most. I could picture Bama and Ole Miss loading the box to stop Fournette and forcing Harris to throw. I do think Harris will be just fine by the time we get towards the end of the schedule, he can only improve as the season goes on. He has what it takes and has great weapons around him!

Power run O.
Any duplicate of LSU offense would be terrifying.

Harris is good!!!!!
It will not matter if the other team has a great run defense, as long as their pass D is average or worse. As good as Leonard is, dont sleep on this QB and these receivers.
Harris and these receivers can take the game over against 8-9 man fronts. Miles understands what he's facing those last 4 games. U betcha he will have a confident Harris ready to unleash by then.
Its hard to believe that alot of Tiger fans, think Harris is a liability. Do u guys watch the games? Look around at other teams QB's and while u are at it look around at their coaching staffs as well.
We are getting good QB play and if a certain receiver can catch the dang thing when its perfectly placed will only help the numbers and confidence.
Watching how the staff is developing Harris, should get more attention from other big time QB recruits. He is going to be really special when its all said and done. He will be much better prepared to handle the NFL than most coming out of college. Miles and staff are forcing Harris to manage the game and become a winning QB in their offense. Which is what developing a QB is all about. The NFL will take notice.
To change your philosophy to fit the QB's strengths and not really work on his weaknesses is not doing the QB any favors in college or high school.
At the professional level thats a different story.
The great coaching staff's do feel a certain responsibility to not only win with these kids but to develop them into professionals.

I think fans are just worried that Harris will go into the BAMA game haven't thrown many "live game action" passes to develop the "in-game" timing and rhythm that is important.
I mean, one can only get better with repetitions!
It's a valid concern, but I for one think Harris is fine and will be in those big games.

it's really hard to say that for sure yet. from speaking with all my clemson friends, kelly's only real problem was keeping his composure when things got bad, on and off the field. ole miss jumped out early immediately against bama. Alabama made it a one score game after being down 20 at 30-24, and Kelly pulls off that miracle awful throw. Of course he was consistent against Ut martin and Fresno St. The one time he's needed to make a play, he made an absolutely dreadful decision, dreadful throw, and got away with it by sheer luck. I'm going to reserve judgment until he's played more than 3 games before I'll say they have no issues with consistency at QB. In 2014, Bo Wallace didn't show "Bad Bo" until the LSU game last year.

That's the point. Why doubt Harris or Miles? Watch the games. Miles will have Harris ready by Bama. Not sure Saban will have Coker ready, but Harris will be. Timing is gotten on the practice field, not in the game. More game experience has its advantages without a doubt but Harris will master his craft on the practice field and in film study.

Not necessarily. Only successful repetitions will do this. The Auburn QB is certainly not any better off after in game reps against LSU. Think they benched him.

Cant agree with the valid concern piece. Before the season, it was a valid concern. But after 2 games and looking around the rest of the league, our entire offense is pretty scary. Even the FB and both TE's get after people. This FB may really be a special player.

You betcha, spread the word.

Bo Wallace threw 3 ints in the first game last year against Boise St. In his 1st 4 games, against the 3 non conference opponents, he threw 10 TDs to 6 ints. He then had a span of 3 good games, then was wishy washy the rest of the year.
