Did anyone else notice Les approach one of the sideline referees, while clapping his hands in that awkward way that only CLM can do, and tell him "good call, that was a good call" when they called Maea Teuhema for illegal motion?

I've never seen a head coach in college or pros congratulate a referee on making a good call against their own team. Our Les is a very special man.

You guys are really digging for anything to criticize Les over.

With so many valid complaints, this is really random.

All part of Miles wanting to keep the game close.

I have it on good authority that at Auburn in 2006, Miles helped to pay the refs himself because he didn't want his team winning potential back to back championships. Wouldn't be fair to the other CFB teams.

You tell the ref good call when it's a good call. That way when you bitch the ref actually has to consider his call since you haven't been complaining about every single penalty.

It's actually pretty telling of where Les' head is at during games. That was, I think, our 3rd pre-snap penalty of the 1st half and the priority for Les was to give the ref a fricking compliment.

And we wonder why his teams are always undisciplined.

You tell a ref it was a good call when it was a good call so that when there is a call that you disagree with, it will be taken seriously

if you bitch about everything, the ref will not take you seriously

this is common sense

I saw that when I was watching. I asked my husband if he saw it too. There wasn't anything sarcastic about it. The man really was patting the refs on the back. Good call or not, get mad about it. Show some passion so the players don't make that mistake again.
