So is gator not considered meat? You can have gator during lent (if you follow the catholic lent rules)?

Hmmmm? Good question. I've always seen it on "seafood" buffets, so I just figured it was considered "seafood". Kinda like the chicken v/s egg thing, can't have chicken on Friday but you can have eggs. Aren't eggs "pre" chickens?

If fish is considered seafood, the maybe gator is considered an amphibian and not "meat" under the rules. Any priest on the board that can make the final call.

Good point. At what point does the "egg" turn into a "chicken"? If you follow catholic law/rules you would think they would consider the yoke inside the egg to be a chicken since the church considers a fetus to be a human life. (I think I am making this discussion a little too serious.) Therefore, eating an egg would be considered eating chicken, meaning meat.

If it spends a lot of time in the water, it's a fish.
