Bama should be winning ever year then. Guess they need better coaches.

I'm not saying you win it every year, but with our talent we should be in the convo every year. Of course Bama is top 5 every year.

It's time to address the O and QB position

That is exactly the point GG is trying to make.

Our talent isn't as good as theirs. How could we both contend year in and year out when they have better coaches and talent when we're in the same division?

It's not an excuse.... We lose too many guys every year.... It takes more time to put the right guys in place to make a real TEAM with little weaknesses when these guys leave like they do. I think again that's why these 2 guys were hired, they can get the most out of them in that short period of time. Now the play calling will depend? This guy may have learned something along the way and may be ready for this position now. 2007 was a long time ago and Clemson at the time wasn't known for having a tremendous D and talent like we have. I hope this guy and Ed have the most dominant, fast, aggressive D LSU has ever seen. Just to shut the mouths of everyone doubting every move Les makes.

Is our talent as good as OSU, Oregon, FSU, Arkansas, Miss St, Auburn, any team in the top 25 this year...could go on forever

The NFL takes players based on physcial measurables, not how well they do the little things. Just because our studs go to the NFL doesn't mean they are coached properly in college.

Are you being serious? Please tell me your trolling.......so in your mind qb's don't get drafted on technique and form. Wrs don't get drafted on route running skills. Rbs don't get drafted on pass blocking or catching.

And by the way OBJ lost two games by dropping punts in the final two minutes of games and Mett threw three picks in the other. How is that on coaching?? Players make mistakes. Please stop now you're Embrassing yourself seriously.

Nothing like using a down year to act like we're always this bad. I really think you are GG. Either that or you're just stupid.

Hammer meets nail......typical Miles hater. Blind ignorant opinions based on absolutely zero fact. I work with a guy that is just like this. Said yesterday Steele is the worst coach ever hired in college football but every week of football season he has to ask us who LSU plays this week. Guaranteed he couldn't name the starting line up but he can tell Miles how to coach.

Developing the talent well

If you and GG haven't seen the HS seniors who signed with LSU develop enough to make the NFL, then you are either blind or college football mentally challenged.

Just last yr. we had a QB, RB, and 2 WR go in the NFL draft. All 4 developed their game a lot from when they 1st. set foot on the LSU campus.

Be honest, the next time you cheer for LSU will be the 1st time you cheered for LSU...right.

And forgive me for not writing off a first year starter this year. Let's see how he develops before we pass judgement.

then again, the starter had last season, the summer, and this season to improve. I didn't see much if any IMO. but I'll give the offensive staff another chance to do something.

Developing the talent well and coaching it well during the season has been the issue.

Um mm incase he hasn't realized, this is a strong suit for both of these guys. The problem with Steele is his game plan decisions. Calling a good defensive game.

Both can coach up a player.

if you just purely look at the rankings, yeah LSU has done well in recruiting. Its about addressing areas we've had weaknesses at within those classes. It also helps having your DC be more heavily involved in the entire process...scouting, offering, visiting, etc.
