I think he is wrong.
Since Chief and Brick got here our D-line talent has dropped off big time. BIIIIIG TIME.

Agreeing with that tard takes away any credibility you have. We've developed so many players it's not even funny.

Where is this player development myth coming from? Ah Glen Guilbeau readers I see.......
3rd time I post this today!
There are 3 units on a defensive football field:
1) DL- Oregeron, widely regarded as one of the top DL coaches in the country. History of physicality with his men who attack the qb.
2) LB- Steele, probably can't find a guy including Chavis who has a better pedigree of making All-Americans. Pro and College experience
3) DB- Corey Raymond, since he has been here our pass D has perennially been top 3 in efficiency. They are physical at the line of scrimmage.
So EXPLAIN the frick to me how we have to overcome anything? The only question mark next year is if Steele can make the proper in game adjustments. THATS IT.

I move that all future gg threads be whacked automatically. After he was caught lying, his op pieces have no place on this board any more. #activism

No one like GG on this board. In fact, I lose all respect for you for giving his article a click.
nobody?

A blind man could see the overall talent on the defensive side of the ball has slipped.
Agree, the defensive talent in Chavis' first couple of years was probably the best in the history of the sport.
There were 18 defensive players on LSU's 2010 roster that ended up getting drafted, with an incredible 13(!) in the first 3 rounds.
I'd be shocked if the 2014 number is anywhere close to that.

Ok Glen, the fact that LSU has put the most NFL players in the NFL under Miles 10 years suggests to me, we do in fact develop players.
LSU's problem is QB!
Everyone knows this..
We hired Cam Cameron a QB guru and former NFL Head Coach to address our woes
Give it time! We missed on Jennings who was an Elite 11 QB. He simply does not have NFL talent thus his development will be capped...
next up is Harris...his upside is massive.
We have Felipe coming on board and hopefully Shea.
Glen continues to stir the pot...

Placebeaux I agree with you and told someone up here the same thing back in Sept.

The only thing LSU needs to address is the QB position everything else will be fine.
Been hearing this comment for about 4-5 years now. Maybe GG has somewhat of a point.

From most accounts the recruiting will be an upgrade as will the player development. Hopefully this holds true.
Will Steele be able to scheme during the week and match wits Saturdays better than Chavis? That is the question.
I know one thing, a more aggressive and effective D-line will make an any defense look pretty good. A shite D-line will make a pro bowl secondary look average.

Ugh, didn't hear it too much in 2012 or 2013. So maybe he doesn't have a point.

I can certainly understand why LSU fans would have a problem with this article.

Really? You heard it in 2013?

I have to go with GG on this one. He's not a sunshine pumper and that pisses some off. Hopefully the talent they pull in will outweigh the coaching they will get.
