But recruiting has not been LSU's problem. Developing the talent well and coaching it well during the season has been the issue.

quote:

LSU strengthened its strength with Steele and Orgeron. It did not address its weakness.

quote:

Orgeron was a great hire for his recruiting and the fact that he has been a defensive line coach for more than 20 seasons at various stops. So overall, Miles gets a B grade for his two hires – an A for Orgeron and a C for Steele.

quote:

While the pair is long on recruiting, neither is a known as a great defensive tactician. Miles himself is more recruiter, motivator and gambler than tactician. So, this new dynamic duo better get every player they can … starting now.

No one like GG on this board. In fact, I lose all respect for you for giving his article a click.

I didn't read the article, only your cliffs, but I have never heard anything negative about Coach O's ability to coach the D-Line. I think he can hold his own as a position coach.

You have to give him credit for at least one thing. He does not wear P&G glasses.

The sky is always falling with Guilbeau.

The only thing LSU needs to address is the QB position everything else will be fine.

He's the worst. Simple fact.

Why he doesn't move to Tuscaloosa, I'll never know.

What I know is that when you have a strength, always work to strengthen it. When you have a weakness, work on it. Yes. But keep your strength productive and strong first.

why does this guy even write for LSU? Haven't seen one positive article from him even when they were doing good.

Like many people, gg doesn't get that several teams are catching up to LSU in recruiting, not to mention bama keeps picking off all-americans from La.

A blind man could see the overall talent on the defensive side of the ball has slipped.

Will not read, GG always has an axe to grind with LSU. If I were LSU, I wouldn't allow him into Tiger Stadium.

Meh, the number of Juniors able to leave for the NFL plus the two QBs being so young tends to call that into question. Hell, those two may never be good, but he can't know that now. Too many stories of shitty young QBs having much improved Jr/Sr season(s).

Actually, you don't. gg was caught blatantly lying during the course of his journalistic duties. You shouldn't support him because he's bad at his job. He wants to make news, not report it.

A Trip Down Memory Lane. Remember this?

I disagree with this actually. THere's a reason Alabama has been in contention for a title since 2008 and it's been their near constant #1 recruiting classes. We've had the #1 only once in that same span and it was only last year we almost hit that in the #2 class.

quote:

It did not address its weakness.

Our biggest weakness recently has been our inability to get off the field on third down and Les brought in someone who will be more aggressive in order to do so.

quote:

Orgeron was a great hire for his recruiting and the fact that he has been a defensive line coach for more than 20 seasons at various stops.

He's widely known as one of the best D-line coaches in the country and probably one of the best recruiters in the country.

I'm not saying we're not gonna miss Chavis because his overall body of work is impossible to ignore. But to act like he didn't have weakness such as not being active in recruiting and 3rd and Chavis, that's short sighted.

GG is trying to be a little like Finebaum. He enjoys rustling feathers. It sells better than arse kissing the fans of a team.

Guilbeau sucks.

He bashes LSU to get attention and for the most part it works. Great example of an attention whore.
Not saying hes never right or never has a point, but the reason he does anything is for attention.

I don't even read what a sportswriter has to say. Just give me the facts. I could care less about your opinion. We have a bunch of people here who have their own opinion as well. So why is Guilbeau's worth more than any other poster's here?
