Talk about a team like a YO YO! This is a play in motion and hopefully they will be better next year. Disappointments all around. The hitting is the worse.

Meh, I know this isn't the 90's, but we are better than winning ONE game in Omaha since 2010. That's 6 years. Unacceptable to me. He should have been gone after 2014 with the Houston Regional loss at home. Houston went to UT and got skull drug.

There are coaches that can do more with less, and there are coaches that can do less with more. It's easy to see where Manieri falls.

Mainieri gets a pass for 2009, but this is LSU Baseball, they fired Smoke Laval & Jack Lamabe because the teams weren't improving, I wonder how long before Alleva notices Mainieri's teams aren't improving.

They fired Smoke because he was an idiot who only signed leverage play guys who didn't make it to campus and the program declined.

Please go look at the stats from the beginning of SEC play and now and tell me how they have not improved. Yes last night they struggled hitting the ball but 5 out of the last 6 sec games they have hit very well against some top arms.

What an absolute jackass. Put the last 4 games aside for just a moment....do you honestly think this team hasn't improved from February? You people who judge a baseball team solely on its last game are really wearing on the nerves.

Weaver makes a good point.
CPM gets a pass this year because it's a rebuilding year. Rebuilding from what?

This is about where I thought this team would be before the season. I was a little more optimistic after they won 3 series in a row but I am happy if they make is to a regional. If they host I could see them making it to a SR.

Not a great thread, but OP is right that a new coach could bring a new enthusiastic style of play. This is the same old song. CPM had the best talent in the nation last year and swandered it.

Fans need to stop having a football mentality during baseball season. You will lose games and you can look great one day then struggle the next. It is a game of failure and adjustments.

Im just tired of watching him mumble to himself and not do ANYTHING! He came out the dugout to argue a call but put his head down turned and walked away. Now, Pierce from Tulane goes on a tantrum..head moving, leg bouncing and it seemed to energize his team. Our team follows the coach and has no emotion. We should just move Canny up to Head Coach and be done with it.

LSU baseball is fun to watch. It is a team full of fast, aggressive contact hitters that put pressure on defenses from the moment they step into the batters box. They don't strike out often and steal a lot of bases. Yea they don't have that great of power numbers but look around college baseball not many teams do. Go watch UCLA or teams in California play. That is a boring brand of baseball.

I will agree with you that the team has inproved since February. My issue with Paul is, will he ever win another title here at LSU? He has squandered some great teams and pitching staffs since 2009 and he has made some dumbass calls that have cost us (Houston). On top of that, since 2009, he has shite the bed every time he has made it to Omaha. It's one thing if you don't have the talent, support and etc but we are LSU. All of that is there.
Another thing that has turned the fan base on him is his handling of the players in interviews. He won't hesitate to throw his own players under the bus while at the same time will NOT take responsibility for his own questionable and dumbass calls.

It just seems that him and Les are doing just enough to keep their jobs and get that next contract. They won their title and now they are just riding that for as long as they can.

If Alleva wont fire the basketball coaches which is the laughing stock of the country, then he wont fire the baseball coach.

LSU baseball recruits itself, I have a hard time believing LSU doesnt have talent. This is LSU baseball which is one of the premier programs in college baseball.
