Has this been done before with a weekend starting pitcher winning both games?

I doubt he would pitch deep enough to get the decision.

Our bats are on fire right now. I could see us putting up crooked numbers in a few early innings and Gausman going 6-7 innings. I think he will get both wins which would be pretty cool IMO.

He only has to pitch 5 innings. He has gone deep into games all season so it would not be crazy to think he can pitch 5. He's shown he can handle 130 pitches so I'm sure he has a pitch count of around 80 or so for the next game.

didn't McDonald do it in the A&M regional all those years ago?
Pitched-won one game, finished another?

maybe a win/save though. I thought about him doing it when they asked him in studio about Gausman doing that, thought he might say "shite I did it myself, he'll be fine"

Why do you say that? He pitched 12 pitches. It's not like he went out there and struggled with 30 pitches.

I was coming here to ask the exact same thing, would be awesome for Gausman to get two W's today!

I hope they stay on fire. It would be nice to put this away before the weather shows up

The weather gets to decide how deep he goes.
