Multimillion dollar Daktronic Replay Boards and we got about 7:30 minutes of the TAMU/Zona State game for staying in the Stadium.

We Poncho Villa'd in our seats the entire time until Dan Borne warned of seeking shelter due to dangerous lightning. Never moved until then. Yet we NEVER saw scores on the LED ribbons. We got two updates from LSU via Borne in 3.5 hours of sitting, and with all that tech via the replay boards, no radar? No forecast info? No updates on other games? No simple messaging re: what was going on?

Believe it or not, I don't like to gripe. I want-sincerely-for LSU to be something I brag about in this respect. Truth be told we did have a new free lot-albeit further away by a quarter mile-that has excellent tailgating prospects. Thanks LSU for that.

But in the last year and a half, we have been reached out to via electronic and social media about how much LSU cares about the Fan Experience. Radio, TV, Internet, social media. It's everywhere. The Leadership in the LSU AD wants us to know about the thought and investment in real dollars that they are making with us in mind.

Then we get two communications from LSU inside the stadium re: weather and current status in 3+ hours. We see >90% of the TV's inside the SEZ Upper Concourse on but not functional. We see that with a damn YEAR of advance planning, they still can't ensure that large water bottles are cold in time for kickoff. We hear they have improved data availability for the in stadium experience and yet no one can get anything more than a 14.4kbps dialup experience on their phone in the stadium.

It all adds up-for this fan anyway-to LSU being more worried about saying they care about fans than LSU actually caring about fans.

I'm sorry, but LSU Fans deserve better. Yeah, yeah, I know. Let the downvote flow. I'm already anticipating the characterization of me as being the, "Get Off My Lawn," type crowd to chime in here in response. Totally okay with it. But I know I'm not the only one who sees LSU saying, Tweeting, and monologuing on the radio and TV about one thing and then delivering another for our fanbase.

If you can't deliver, don't talk about it.

Just one man's $0.02. Now someone hold this soap box steady as I climb down off of it.

I agree with the lack of communication to the fans; at least humor us with weather updates because trying use a smart phone in the stadium is a joke.
Also, what are those huge tv's for in the corner of the South end zone? Maybe play a couple of games to entertain the fans while they wait?
One question, why couldn't they sell you a $5.50 bottle of water with the cap on? There were signs at the concession stand saying it was an sec & Tiger Stadium rule?

It's a safety precaution. I guess some idiot could screw the cap on with water and hurt someone really bad. Thank the Cleveland Browns fans for hurling beer bottles back in the early 2000s against Jacksonville.

We were told it was a new NCAA regulation that was adopted from the NFL for player safety as the caps were being thrown at players on the sidelines and the field.

Throw bottle water with cap on, it remains a projectile.

Throw it without a cap on and half the water flies out, loses momentum, strikes like a pillow.

I'd imagine that it is a liability thing regarding the updates. They probably didnt want to entice anyone to stay while simultaneously issuing an order to seek shelter

The only thing that I can think is that it may be a liability issue - if they ask for everyone to leave their seats and go into the concourses to avoid the lightning, but then leave the games on the screens, effectively encouraging people to stay in their seats, it's sending a mixed message and might put them in a vulnerable position if someone gets injured.

I took this photo last night in the EU deck. This TV has been pointing towards the fricking I-10 bridge for three seasons... Unless Superman is going to hover off the EU deck, it's pointing at nothing.

The tvs in the sez were not working before the game ....

As for the op he is spot on with his complaints .... is it asking too much to get a Cold $6 bottle of water , to have functional tvs and get more info to the fans , or to be able to connect to the Internet ....

It's fricking bush league LSU .....

How is there not a contingency plan or date set for each game? The athletic department's only job is the plan and coordinate shite. Get it together. Not only did I waste hours of my weekend, I paid money to waste hours of my weekend and be miserable standing in a concourse with no updates. Screw LSU. Something needs to be organized to show our displeasure.

Since we're bitching in this thread, did anyone else try to go through the Express Gate 4? That woman was a f'n Nazi. My girlfriend had a pair of binoculars in a pouch and the wouldn't let her through because of the 'no bags' rule. Also, the couple that we went with wasn't allowed through because his girlfriend was holding her wallet. A fricking wallet.

It isn't about your weekend. It's about something more important.

Anyone have issues entering upper east? I know Gate 9 is the escalator entrance but when trying to go through Gate 14 (I believe) there's a giant sign that said ramp access 630-644. Ticket Takers Would still not let us through and forced us back to Gate 9. When telling them the sign right above us says the ramp entrance is this gate, we were told "it changed this year". Either ticket takers didn't know what was going on, or LSU needs to take the sign down. In the past Id rather go up the ramps rather than wait in that long arse escalator line for Gate 9.

We enter in gate 22 each game and walk over to the EU ramps. About every 3rd game somebody tells us we can't b/c our tickets say gate 9, so we just walk to another South gate and get in and then on our way. It's sad how uniformed some of the workers are at the games

I went through that gate just fine because i can read and didn't have a bag. sorry the people you were with don't understand no bags.

The tv situation and update situation is piss poor though but what do you expect with a Joe pussy run show?

Where in my post did I express unhappiness with the game being cancelled? To use the words of Katt Williams, "Don't worry, I'll wait." Seriously, find one reference to me complaining about the game's cancellation.

Stop and re read what I wrote in this thread. Start with the damn title. It doesn't say, "Game Cancellation Gripe," does it?

How much harder could you try to literally make up something to respond to my post about? I mean it's difficult to respond other than to talk about how galactically stupid you sound for having responded to a post you either didn't even bother to read, or read and literally didn't understand, from the actual title moving on.

Either way it falls, why don't you respond to what I actually posted about if you want to take another crack at it. But beforehand, you may really wanna read this with a friend and bounce your understanding of what I've said off of them first. Because if you feel your response had anything resembling something to do with anything I said, you obviously aren't capable of understanding basic English without significant assistance from someone who cares enough not to judge you for just how terrible you are at it.

Did you stop to think that they did not present other game action, scores, weather updates etc inside the stadium because they didn't want you to have a reason to stay IN the stadium when you were already asked to please leave?
