So I'm curious....

I placed a bet in Vegas on LSU to win the national championship this year. Before this cancellation they had a shot to still win the West and make the Playoffs albeit very small.

Nowww that an unforeseen cancellation (force majeure) has occurred those odds of LSU winning the WEST and making the playoffs has become minuscule thanks to the university of forfeit.

THE QUESTION: What does the rant think the odds/chance of voiding this bet are?

You'd need to check the rules of the book you bet with to be sure.

Typically an o/u on the win total would be canceled. I know someone that held a under win total ticket on the Celtics but the last game was canceled due to the Marathon bombing and he says his ticket was canceled and couldn't collect despite them being way under and even winning the canceled game would not have changed the outcome of the bet.

I am also holding a ticket for LSU to win it all so it'd be nice to get a push assuming me don't somehow pull an ultimate back in job.

That is a great question. I've had bets cancelled before due to unforeseen circumstances in the past, but this situation is quite a different animal.

Keep us posted on what you find out please.
