Has to be the hardest working recruiter I have ever seen.
Glad he is a Tiger, for as long as we can keep him!

I've heard 3-4 hours a night which seems realistic.

He and his wife just had a kid which further validates this question.

nb4 Some poster tells you to pump the brakes before coaching his first game.

I'm ready to say alleva needs to pay the man whatever he has to, to keep him in baton rouge. If we have to upgrade facilities so be it. Whatever he wants. We cant nick saban this one up. I just do not see him failing as a coach for us.

How long is his streak of running a few miles every day now? It's getting up there last time I checked. So, so happy to have such an energetic passionate coach the head of LSU basketball.

Palm Beach Tiger,
I have been thinking the same and wrote this scenario for an extention. Do you guys think WW is worthy of my below contract to offer him NOW before the 2017 season starts, based on his Superman-like work ethic and overhaul of the LSU team to one that looks real promising in the short term.
Let's assume Will Wade presently makes $2M per year for 6 years. 2017-2022
I would sit down with WW and say we want you to grow old here in Baton Rouge, build a basketball dynasty here and want you to retire in BR and never leave. For that we will tear up that first contract and sign another one with the same dates that reads the following:
• Base salary of $3M per year for 6 years (Un-cancellable contract)
• Plus $1M per year extra for Media- TV shows (Inside LSU Basketball), Radio, etc...
• Raises per annum at 5% each year's base salary on the previous year's total- not using $3M as a principle
Year 2 - $3,150,000 + $1M Media = $4.315M
Year 3 - $3,307,500 + $1M Media = $4.308M
Year 4 - $3,472,875 + $1M Media = $4.473M
Year 5 - $3,646,518 + $1M media = $4.647M
Year 6 - $3,828,845 + $1M media = $4.829M
Season Bonuses:
20+ wins - $50,000
25+ wins - $100,000 (guaranteed an NCAA birth)
SEC West Title- $50,000
SEC Title - $100,000
NCAA Tournament Appearance - $100,000 and $10,000 for each win leading up to Final 4
Final 4 Appearance - NCAA appearance bonus now grows to $150,000 total
In Championship Game - NCAA appearance now grows to $200,000 total
Wins National Title - NCAA appearance now grows to MAX $500,000 total
Scenario for Payout under my new contract given to him this August 2017:
Let's assume in WW third year (2019) LSU went 25-6 in the regular season and won the SEC West and SEC Title, then went 2-1 in the SEC Tournament, now 27-7 and made the NCAA Tournament. Then they went all the way to the Final 4 and beat Kansas in the Semifinals and beat North Carolina in the Championship game.
They finish the year 33-7 and NCAA Champions. Will Wade's payout is as follows:
1. Year 3 - $3,307,500 + $1M Media = $4.308M
Add Bonuses
2. 25 + wins = $100,000
3. SEC West Title = $50,000
4. SEC Title = $100,000
5. NCAA Tournament bonuses = $500,000
Total Bonuses = $750,000
Total Year 3 Compensation with National Title for WW & LSU is $5,058,000... Nice Job!!
Now, WW gets the following new contract A or B:
Average Salary of the nation's top 3 coaches which is
$7.8M- Rick Pitino Louisville
$7.4M- John Calapari Kentucky
$5.5M- Mike K. Duke
Contract A. WW gets $6.9M per year for 6 more years extended to the current remaining contract term and now max bonuses are $300,000 per year. $5.9 Salary and $1M Media/other.
Contract B. If WW wins 2 national title games while at LSU then he gets $200,000 per year more than the highest coaches salary in NCAA. That would be $8M per year. $7M Salary and $1M Media/other.
Note: If WW does not win the National Title but accomplishes any of the following he gets Contract A above:
• 1 final four appearances in 6 years
• 2 SEC titles in 6 years
• 2 of the following: Round of 16 & Elite 8 or 2 Rounds of 32 & Elite 8 in 6 years
Note: If WW does not win the National Title but accomplishes any of the following he gets Contract B above:
2 Final 4 in 6 years or 3 Final 4 in 10 years
3 SEC titles in 6 years
2 of the following: Round of 16, Elite 8 and Final 4 in first 6 years or Round of 32, Round of 16, Elite 8 and 2 Final 4 in 10 years
LSU can extend any contract at any time. It is only uncancellable by WW and he cannot leave therefore no buyouts to worry about. And I did not extend the first extension more than the original 6 year term, which prevents a Les Miles type scenario where Alleva extended him a lifetime it seems. So, if WW wins in year 3 in 2019 of my new contract and gets the new $6.9 M per year deal (Avg of the 3 top coaches salaries), then there are 3 years left + we do either 3 more (until 2025) or 6 more years (until 2028).
Is that too much of a contract to bring the magic back to the P-Mac? Not really
Is that too much to win 50% of the SEC titles? Hell no!!!
Is that too much to win the Natty? Hell NO!!!
Is that too much to make the NCAA Tournament routinely and advance well into the round of 16, Elite 8 and occasional Final 4? No
Dam I cannot believe I wrote all that shite and not getting paid for it.
