1. I will give GA the benefit of the doubt and assume he just wanted his post game press conference to end when he said that he didn't know why Gordon didn't get more carries. If he was being truthful there, that makes me seriously question his ability to be a head coach. Ask yourself this... didn't Barry Alvarez ALWAYS know EXACTLY why or why not Dayne, Moss, Davis, etc. got the ball?

2. Don't fall for the nonsense that the ESPN announcers were spouting. Our receivers are adequate. The issue is that McEvoy is a complete-and-total train wreck in the passing game. Just because "nobody is open" isn't an excuse to miss a guy by 20 yards.

3. If I was Joel Stave, I would transfer. Obviously the coaching staff prefers a mobile QB (no matter how awful he is in every other facet of the game) and you're never going to get a fair chance.

4. I was happily surprised by how well that front 7 held up until the Herring injury. That was probably my main concern going into the game. Obviously, Trotter and Schobert are going to be tough to run on. I like that Alec James stuck his nose in there at times too.

5. The "huge fake punt call" that ESPN lauded was a big nothing, as far as I was concerned. We were in base defense, sniffed it out and the guy fell forward just enough to get the first down. It was neither innovative, nor gutsy, and it fooled nobody. It was just a normal run that they executed slightly better than us.

6. In some ways I agree with the comments here that Ludwig was awful tonight. Specifically as it relates to starting a mobile QB and then not calling nearly enough plays to feature his legs. That being said, Paul Chryst looked like a clueless idiot when he was saddled with Dustin Scherer, so until McEvoy is removed, I will withhold judgement on Ludwig. I will say that "the blind hail mary pass" has to go until Tanner can learn to get within 10 yards of his receiver.

7. Figaro is going to be a nice player for us eventually, but the worst "safety valve" in the world is one who takes crap angles and misses tackles. Tough debut for him.

8. Andersen can watch the tape with me if he wants, but our o-line was fine. Not great, but good enough. McEvoy was not "running for his life", he was running like a clueless chicken with his head cut off.

9. I had zero expectations going into this game. In fact, I bet a shitload on LSU when McEvoy was named started (-4.5, thanks for nothing). That being said, this game was real punch in the nuts because at 24-7 in the third quarter, it's almost a "just manage the clock" type of game. If we just have one more big play on either side of the ball and phuck all the rest up the same way, we still probably win the game. What a debacle!

10. I watched at least some of every Big 10 game this weekend. The good news is that even with McEvoy at QB, if we can master like 10 simple running plays, we will be like the 3rd best team in the league. Most of these other teams seriously blow.

my thing is if a LSU fan ever thinks they have a bad QB this year, just say the name Tanner McEvoy

No we wouldn't.

If the fan base didn't riot after 1-9-12, it never will

Our secondary is probably better then anything they'll see in the big 10, but their QB isn't their only problem in the passing game.

There must have been a lot laid on Wisconsin on Saturday as the line fell to -3.5 before kickoff in Vegas.

I like the following comment from further down the first page of their thread:

by madjeff66: "Additional thought: Most of the fan bases in the SEC have felt like we do right now at some time over the last 10 years thanks to Les Miles, More strange things happen in games he's involved in. Delay of game on a kickoff, that's just hilarious"

They seem like a good fan base. I can't bring myself to hate 'em.

JJ had 25 total yards in the SECCG and everyone was ecstatic.

Yep. 1-9. Basically the game where saban made miles quit. No lee no two minute no huddle offense. Wtf was Leslie thinking? Oh well.
