He did follow that up to say that he doesn't think he'd take that job. That would certainly be a risky move for Coach Wilson.

Only guy to make it out of there alive as a HC was Tommy Bowden, and we all knew RichRod was the brains behind that operation.

Its a good situation for a guy like Frank, but I think he knows its got potential to really screw him up on his career path.

I've heard from the grapevine that Frank Monica is going to be the OC at Tulane...

If he does, it should be about the same time that Porter gets fired at Memphis. Getting Porter back could take some of the sting away.

That would be awful for LSU in recruiting New Orleans. Awful.

I like Frank Wilson, but the list of successful head coaches that started out as "ace recruiter" contains about zero names.

If the then female AD had hired RichRod instead of Scelfo, Onelane might have had a few more 7-5 or 8-4 and Indy Bowl appearances, (before RR would have left for WVU or Mich.)

I like that. The implication being that a man would have never made such a stupid decision. Then again, men hired Hallman, Dinardo, Brady, Laval, etc. Maybe a woman is what we need.

For the millionth time, it wasn't Sandy Barbour's decision to hire Scelfo she was forced into it by others. She wanted to keep Rich Rod. At Tulane, the AD doesn't make decisions and with Cowen in charge I don't expect a good hire to occur. He couldn't kill athletics in 93 the way he wanted, so he's letting it die a slow miserable death.

the originator of that discussion is a sports reporter named Fletcher Mackel over at WDSU

Wilson should take note of Larry Porter going to a meddling C-USA school...and about to get fired.

I hope you aren't implying that he will steal LSU recruits for Tulane.

Maybe if Frank leaves we can get Larry back.

Also, anyone who thinks LSU is going to lose recruits to Tulane, regardless of who the coach is, has lost his mind.

Tulane needs to do the honorable thing, and drop down to Div III, build the kiddie stadium on campus and they might have people back in the stands after a few years of actually winning football games, then slowly rebuild a program.

Im more worried about taking a step backwards with the New Orleans kids that Frank has solidified. He has opened up a pipeline that was a bit shaky before he was here. St Aug for one...

What is Frank's salary here at LSU? Can't imagine the Tulane HC job would pay that much more, or that Les wouldn't give him a raise to stay.
