Explosive athletes are usually always good at jumping that's the point

But he was like a 10.6 100m guy in HS so he could very well be an outlier

229 at The Opening and jumped 29" in the vert.

ETA:

So he was 230 and running 10.6 in the 100m.

I've posted 2 studies that say this isn't actually true. Really surprised me

Bell only had a 29 inch vert too.

Looking at the 2013 "The Opening" results and Malachi Dupre jumped 42.4"

LINK

Also, Cook ran a 4.46 40 and jumped 30.9" (LF didn't run)

LF looks fit. Even if he runs a 4.5 flat just think of that dude trucking you @ 240 going 4.5 speed (faster with top end speed)

todays most LBs are around 225-240. and CBs can forget about it.

No they aren't. Most are in the 235-255 range.

What do the studies say? Are we talking pure athleticism or if this is a curse for him as a football player?

I'm not saying you can't be a good football player, for the record. But I'm curious if it dispels that vert and 40 are usually in sync

That there isn't a correlation between vertical and 40.

Is there a better example then Lev Bell?

His 32" vert and 4.60 aren't that drastic imo
