We had success running against bama in 2012,2014 and 2011.

2011

41 carries for 148 yards, and we scored 9 points with a game winning field goal.

3.6 ypc, with a run of 18 yards, and a run of 15 yards.

If you take out those two outliers, they averaged 2.95 ypc.

That's the lowest point total in an LSU game there's ever been in probably 15+ years.

2012

I dont know how you come to this conclusion. They had 49 carries for 139 yards. Take out the two outliers of 19 and 19 yards, and you've got 2.1 ypc, with the outliers is 2.8 ypc.

Interestingly enough, the only reason they were in the game is because Mett threw for 298 yards, and it took him 35 attempts...and we even had a future NFL starting RB on that team! Wow!

2014

3.3 ypc

55 attempts, 184 yards.

I would call that "average" at best, but definitely not "sucessful" as you put it. That's a really tough spin on your part.

183 yards in 2014 sucked right?

Yes, it did, when it takes you 55 carries, that sucks, also losing with that gameplan sucks.

Keep doing the same thing and expecting different results.....

Ypc in a game arent always indicative of running success.

Yes, actually they ARE. It's a great indicator of efficiency. You can run for 350 yards, but if it takes you 80 carries, it doesn't mean you are efficient.

It's about yards per play...

Ypc in a single game isnt when qb sacks go against the run numbers.

I know ypc are a pure stat and not skewed by the amount of plays ran.
But single game ypc can be skewed by qb sacks.

What did bama score.

Say what ever you want but the lsu offense has given us a lead twice with a minute left. Let me guess thats the fault of the offense.

Please let me know all these offenses that are having success year in and year out against bama. Please id love for you to enlighten me.

I applaud your commitment to the daily 'stats' threads. It takes dedication.

ETA - the offense was inconsistent and the defense was inconsistent. I dont think either were really the 'strength' of the team overall.

Special teams pretty much sucked constantly.

I applaud your ignorance when it comes to common knowledge about football. It takes nothing.

in 2014, Alabama had two sacks for a loss of 13 yards. Take those out and we had 196 yards on 54 carries for 3.6 ypc. What is something that should be mentioned is that, on the season, Alabama only gave up, on average, 88 ypg and 2.8 ypc
