Unbelievable that this former 320 pound Tiger great is now a competitive marathon runner. Guy has got to be some kind of freak of nature.

Not really...

Certainly a great athlete, but that's not all that crazy...

Yes really. Think about it ... how many former OLinemen that spent 16 years in the NFL have trouble just getting around, let alone running a marathon?

But it's not, really... Not for the athletes of today.

I mean, he did train for it...

I'd consider him more of a freak of nature if he could've run a marathon while he was at playing weight.

Again, before some of you lose your minds, he's a great athlete...no doubt...but he's not a freak because he trained for, and ran, a marathon.

Even the fatty's in The Biggest Loser complete a marathon on the show.

Good comparison, since most of those "fatty's" also spent 16 years in the trenches of the NFL. The fact that his knees can withstand the rigors of running a marathon are amazing.

I would imagine that most of those minimizing the accomplishment are under the age of 30.

So it's not about his weight, its about his age and knees. Got it.

Jesus H...

Nobody is "minimizing" the accomplishment...shite.

And I'm 40, Mr. Know-it-all...

Being generally lucky in regards to health over an NFL career, does not a freak of nature make...

Maybe, maybe not. A career in the NFL of that length takes a bit more than being lucky, but whatever helps with your argument.

Good for him. and pretty good time regardless of who you are/how much you used to weigh.

I must say though that in the link photos, his lower legs look ridiculously small for the rest of his body

For as long as he spent in the league, in the trenches, yes. It's quite remarkable.

I get the sense that your stuck now and, instead of just saying "Yeah, you guys might be right", you are just going to grasp for straws at anything we post.

I did not say that he was lucky to have a career that long - I said that he was "generally lucky in regards to health" over the span of his career, which he was.

And the same could be said for you. A former 320 lb NFL OLineman runs a marathon after spending 16 years in the trenches and you try to say it's not that big of a deal . I'm arguing that it really is an amazing accomplishment. But hey, I'm the one grasping.
