He is temporary fix for an emergency. He probably is being paid well for a few months. Once SC names a permanent HC he can return to his full time business of retirement. Good luck to coach Jenkins. He did well for LSU.

Petes son lives in L.A. This is a chance for him to go spend some time with him and get paid to be there.

Two of the most self absorbed people on earth combine.

Pete will divide the staff and treat his players like Gods and everyone else like crap.

Coaches that coached with Pete say he is the most overrated Coach they have ever known.

Stovall brought him to LSU to be DC and Asst HC and he did not know squat. Three years later they get fired but Arnsparger keeps Pete.....Arnsparger want to keep Bruce Johnson but he took the DC at Air Force because he did not want to coach with Pete.

PJ is a notorious self promoter and the only coach at LSU who had his own radio show.

Ever wonder why he did not hang around any program very long?

Hiring Pete tells you everything you need to know about Orgeron.

Hope Orgeron never coaches at LSU...his best friend get fired and Orgeron tell the press..."This is my chance"...really nice!

He's also a pretty damned good recruiter, and we need that more than ever right now.

I don't know how an interim coach can sell a program to a recruit.

If Orgeron is one thing it's a great recruiter. He brought good players to Ole Miss when they weren't doing shite in the SEC. He did have a knack for pulling an upset or two also.

We love Coach O. If we manage to stay above .500 with the sanctions we're dealing with, I'll be pretty impressed. In the interim, he's a positive presence, and he's a lot more of a people person than LFK-bro is.

He's also a pretty damned good recruiter, and we need that more than ever right now.

When he was fired from ole miss, they won ZERO s.e.c. games. that's how good of a h.c. he is.

I suppose Pete did it as a favor to Ed O. One good thing is that I doubt Pete has little desire to hit the road recruiting and surely can't be expected to do that, since he should amount to a temp coach.

Maybe this would be a more suitable topic for the Recruiting Rant, but will USC have fewer recruiters out there & what type of recruiting effort will they have, since there will likely be wholesale changes made in the coaching staff after this season?
