Can he coach defense or does he have experience in implementing half court offenses capable of breaking a zone?

Trent didn't hire him because he had no coaching experience so he goes to d league to get that yet he probably would have gotten Trent some New Orleans players.

Johnny didn't hire him first time because he needed recruiting experience, went to Australia to learn some recruiting.

Finally, he gets his chance. At this point, this is probably the best hire you could make. Congrats former Tiger, welcome home!

Terry Martin could singlehandedly break a zone by himself, let's bring him back

Do other college basketball coaches not have a degree?

I'm thankful we found someone willing to take the job knowing the shitshow of a program that we currently are. Its not surprising to me that it is one of Johnny's personal friends.

Can Johnny move to assistant and Randy to headcoach? Without that it won't make any difference.

The reason why he wasn't hired earlier was because he didn't have his degree

Is there anyway Randy Livingston can be LSU'snext head basketball coach? Does he have the credentials I mean he coached the NBA D league. For all you nega Tigers I know Randy Livingston is a very smart basketball mind. He made it in the NBA for five years on two blown out knees, because his basketball IQ was so high. I don't believe Randy will have any problem coaching the team

He could have brought him on staff like Ronald Dupree while working on degree.

Honestly I don't know if this is good or bad.

What exactly is the plan for the basketball program? Is there one? Are we going to attempt to develop teams over years or just patch shite together as it comes? I've tried and was excited for Johnny but I don't see who or what we are trying to be. Does anyone know? Seriously.

Two years ago we had a decent assistant coaching staff with David Patrick and Eric Musselman. Now we have Brendan Suhr and Randy Livingston.... This is a bad staff and there is no other way to say it.

I'd like the staff more if the head man wasn't incompetent

I hope he enjoys his one year on the sidelines.
I doubt his time at LSU will be limited to what is left of JJ's time there, not that I think there is any chance they'll fire JJ in the next few years.

Because he would rather make money in Australia than be a grad assistant who doesn't get paid shite

When I think of Randy the expression, coach on the floor, comes to my mind. He was probably one of the finest, if not the finest, true point Guard I have ever seen play in Louisiana high school basketball.

Why the negative vibe over the announcement is a mystery to me. if he is half the coach that he was a player, this is good news for LSU basketball.

Welcome back to LSU, Randy, and the best of luck!

It's not Randy, it's the fact that Randy is coming into a situation where the head coach is very unpopular. I guess all that could change, but Johnny is going to have to pull some magic out of his arse next season.
