Shitty thread. Plain and simple.

I agree with you and that is why Harris should have started a game like SHSU to get his feet wet. Going into a top 5 game on the road is quite the test... He wasn't mentally prepared to start.
This guy says "Hi"...

that guy has three years in the program.

I love all these people saying Harris was doomed to fail because it was on the road at Auburn. Were all these same people not celebrating when he was announced the starter?

Also,
by the way.. Jennings had ZERO rushing TDs..
Harris had 3 rushing TDs.. in very few attempts.. Harris also had a longer rushing attempt than Jennings ever once did in such limited time.

He was not ready for the environment in Auburn, he was in over his head there. I think with more preparation and experience he will get better.
This^^^^^^. Not a great decision by the coach starting him his first game at auburn, but Milea knew he needed balance in the offense to win, and Harris had the ability to bring that, while Jennings didn't. Had he played the in earlier games more, maybe he settles down more for that game.

Rohan Davey's first career start:
vs Auburn, 4 of 11, 31 yards, 2 INT.
Rohan Davey's next start (after HC was fired):
vs Ark, 10 of 12, 242 yards, 3 TD.

1 bad game, should have had another time.. but miles can't handle a qb properly. he should have made harris the guy at that point.. just as sumlin did with kyle allen even after kyle allen had a shitty game at home vs ulmonroe..
instead miles went on to even say, "jennings was never benched"
there was no excuse for harris not to get another opportunity.. especially after lsu lost it's 3rd game and was getting shut out by arkansas.. he should have played in that game.. he didn't. then he definitely should have saw action now with lsu having 4 LOSSES and going to a&m to face the worst defense period.
Harris would have lit that aggie defense up. jennings had probably his best game that day and it still wasn't even beyond mediocre.

When did we play Auburn?

Yes I did. I completely forgot about it at around 11:00 PM on November 15, 2014.

For the record, I just want above average QB play, don't care if it is AJ or BH or someone else coming in.
I've watched the Auburn game more than once and remember Harris going the wrong way on a handoff more than once. That was a pretty big red flag to me when watching the game.
Hoping to see much improvement from both guys and a great season next year!

exactly and it happens all the time.. guys shite the bed their first start.
harris never saw the field again! miles is absolutely pathetic at handling a quarterback. they can't ever build any kind of confidence and trust this way.. the more talented guy should play period if we are going to lose 5 games. once he went to harris, he should have either stuck with him or went back to him during and after the arky shut out.
harris finds ways to get the offense into the endzone when jennings does not possess enough capability with passing and running like harris does.
Here is a crazy stat..
Jennings accounted for himself 11 total TDs all season long.. passing and throwing..
Harris accounted for himself 9 total TDs passing in throwing..

and that's including the bowl game. LOL.

He was not ready for the environment in Auburn, he was in over his head there and still led us to our only 7 points, despite Jennings playing much of the game as well.
I think with more preparation and experience he will get better
FIFY and I agree.

So why were (and still are) people ready to throw AJ on the trash heap after his 3rd start into his second full season? Cardale didn't have to play a snap in his first two years. Who knows, he may have been beyond awful if he had.
BH advocates want to cite the "time in the system" angle when it suits them.

I've noticed that usually when one of these random tards starts a thread like this they never stick around to read the replies. That's the frustrating thing about this...this moron will never understand just how stupid his post was.

Outside of that, Harris has outplayed Jennings on the field. And he never once got another opportunity to redeem himself.. Not one time.. and we still lost 5 freaking games.. Pretty disgusting.
Lets also be fair. All of Harris's great play came against such juggernauts as Sam Houston St. and NMSU, along with MSU when he came in the game with 3:00 left and LSU trailing 34-16.
Now that's not to say that Harris didn't deserve another shot later in the season, but forgive me if his performances against weak competition don't have me thinking he is a future All SEC QB.

True. And if we cant pass with Jennings and all we do is hand the ball off like Les likes to do then why cant we teach Harris how to hand off and occasionally pass the ball equally as bad as Jennings?
Is it that Harris doesn't know which way to turn to hand the ball off?

I believe your synopsis to be correct. Every Harris naysayer I hear from always refers to the Auburn game as to why he shouldn't start over Jennings. Harris drove LSU to their only touchdown and could have gotten another score near halftime if Miles had any clock management skills at all. Instead he lets 13 seconds tick off the clock and goes into the locker room with three unused timeouts. Jennings starts the second half and never gets the offense past the 50 yard line. He gets lucky and avoids two Auburn interceptions while throwing into triple coverage. The biggest problem in that game wasn't Harris or Jennings, it was DJ Welter. Auburn saw what Miss State and Dak Prescott did to Welter the week before so they ran right at him and over him again and again and again. The chief woke up at halftime, benched Welter and put in Beckwith to slow the hemorrhaging of touchdowns. SO yea, Jennings and Les are just what the sunshine pumpers wanted. Since Les is such a premier coach and all and is great at developing players, I hope his fan base gets more of Jennings next year.
