For those who think Miles is stubborn for stubborn's sake, you may be forgetting

one thing. Miles has in his contract that if he wins the national title he has to become the highest paid coach in college football. You telling me he likes stubborn over another cool million in the bank? Maybe he knows his team's limtations more than us.

Miles wants to win. Anyone who says otherwise is a moron.

Yes Les tries to win every game...good lord. Whether he is 10-0 or 6-4 he like all coaches will try to win the next game. You can question his strategy and that is fine, but no one should question is desire to win.

every coach in the country would stand to gain millions, contractual, or not.
he does not believe in the forward pass
he does not believe in the forward pass

Disagree. Common rant complaint. Not based in facts.

you my friend are an idiot for saying that...

He's had two qbs go over 3k yards. I'd say he plays like LSU has always played. By running the ball.

Of course he wants to try and win. No one, thinks he wants to lose. His decision making is what is usually in question

Whether he wants to win is not the issue. The issue is if he is doing what he thinks gives us the best chance to win with the personnel we have. His contract incentives would suggest he is, and so do prior seasons like 2007 & 2011 where we were very balanced offensively.

I'm convinced that the coaching staff does everything they can to win every game with the talent they've recruited. They stand to profit if they can pull off said goal. How they go about doing that is their business. We're here to critique how they go about doing their business wishing for wins every game. We usually win, and that's a good thing.

Sometimes he is unsuccessful in trying to escape defeat. While the want for victory is there, trying not to lose gets in the way.

I refuted the fact that just because he has contractual incentives necessarily means that he couldn't, or wouldn't make mistakes that might be borne out of unwillingness to change his philosophy (I didn't say the opposite either), I just said that it does not ipso facto mean that he wouldn't make mistakes
further in saying that he does not believe in the forward pass (it was a tongue in cheek exaggeration), but there have clearly been many times while Miles has been at the helm that he has chosen conservative rushing offenses and game planning, including when LSU lost 41 to 3, or whatever it was
it's an observable fact and far from idiocy

OF course he wants to win CLM is his own worst enemy.
Money does strange things e.g. lull you into thinking that because you make a lot of money you are smarter and know more than others.
The smartest people in the world are not necessarilty the richest.

fixt
The man OBVIOUSLY plays to his teams strengths.

Have you ever drank in excess to the point that you knew you would be hungover the next day? It is in human nature to do things against what is in our best interest.
I love Les Miles, but he is stubborn and that is just the truth. Can be a good quality in some situations and a bad quality in others.

it sort of is ...
his idea of "balanced" offense is 1/3 passes -seldom to the middle (slants or screens -tight ends involvement is rare)
2/3 rushes... and mostly up the middle.

really ?
NFL caliber QB and Receivers with Mett, Odell, etc....
his game plan changed some (because Cam was new), but not to any great length...if you considered the weapons

I'm not discrediting Miles, but a lot of teams role out new quarterbacks and put together competent and serviceable offenses. Ours was that at times this year and other times was a hot bag of shite. Looking to get more consistency
