If you're watching the game, then you heard which SEC pitching staff leads the league in both Whip and ERA over the last 5 years

If you're anti-Alan Dunn kick rocks. If you can figure out how.

We are near the bottom of the SEC in nearly every pitching statistic...

Well that's just simply not true. We're squarely in the middle of the pack in hits per 9 innings and era, as well as the leader in total shutouts. This obviously has not been our best statistical year pitching wise, but I think it's pretty short sided to say he's doing a poor job based simply off certain statistics without acknowledging the development of multiple freshmen that are playing key roles for us at this point. I mean it looked like the wheels had totally come off for Eric Walker, and then he comes out and has a performance like he did last Saturday. I think the Pitching Coach deserves some credit for that

We're 8th in whip after Tuesday. Just for the sake of correctness

My gripe is the mid-relief has been shite. We walk waaaay too many batters. The veteran guys have been very unreliable out of the pen with the exception of Newman.

And tied for first in the SEC with two games to play. Go drink anti-freeze.

Quit using 'we' when describing this team. You are not a member of the team or made the sacrifice to be in the team! Especially if you denigrate some of the players and Sind insignificant poster criticizing Alan Dunn.. Sports Bar Hero! Have an order of wings and a beer.

I still think the dumbest thing I have ever read on this board was when some jerk-off said "Dunn is no good. All he does is ride the coattails of stud pitchers who don't need any coaching". If there was a Rantard Hall of Fame, that would be the sig quote.

Hess seems to have the 7th-8th bridge to Newman pretty well locked down. And all our starters have shown the ability to go close to 6 fairly consistently. And Gilbert has been good when asked to come in and put out fires in like the 4th-6th. Throw in Beck/Reynolds in a pinch we're ok. Only real problem in terms of middle relief has been midweek games when throwing guys like Strall/Kiel/Peterson///Bush/Bain.

Summation: We aren't deep but seem to have a system that can get us through 3-4 games pretty consistently

Not blaming Dunn for this, losing Norman and "Guarantee" Cartwright this season were huge blows to our pen in terms of middle relief.
