Les gave it away during his presser...

"I wanted to get Harris to be calm and settle down. But I don't know if that will happen. We will just have to see how this competition plays out."

Doesn't sound like he's all over Harris' jock strap to me.

I understand how you would get that meaning.
I took it as the door is still open for Harris to return after "he calmes down" and gets into the flow of the game.

I'm sure we all remember the last time an LSU qb got their first start on the road against an SEC opponent. I think Etling will fair better against a much inferior opponent like MSU this year, but that's definitely a factor.

Big issue is Harris would probably perform just as shaky as he did in '14.

I don't believe Harris should start, but I don't trust Miles to make the right decision.

I think Miles expected Etling to go in there for one series and then put Harris back in but Etling fricked that up taking LSU down the field for a TD, then Miles was forced to keep him in there and Etling kept right on rolling...

But this would not be Etlings first time as a starter.

To be fair, Harris is the more talented player, and hiws issue is largely being in his own head. He does just need to calm down and focus on mechanics, but he hasnt shown he can do that.

Is this the same competition that led to BH being the starter in the first place? If so, we all know how that process goes.

BH will get a quarter next game. Not sure if its 1st, but he'll see meaningful playing time. Less is still the HC.

Exactly, but if you execute, I couldn't give a crap about how "talented" the other guy if he's a head case. And he is, BH isn't mentally tough enough. Etling has poise on and off the field, and that'll translate later on even when he makes mistakes.

It's been 3+ ducking years. He's a great practice guy, but against real teams he just crumbles.

There is no more of a sample group needed. He has failed us. It sucks and has happened to many, but this year should 've handed to Etling. Let's see how he does as a starter with all the reps in a big game.

"more talented player", Why, cause he can throw it farther, cause he certainly has NO accuracy or touch on the ball, NOR does he work himself into better situations with his feet. Maybe he can sing and dance better cause he certainly is not a better player than Etling.

Harris' mechanics also lack something to be desired.

I highly doubt Mauck and Flynn were the most "talented" qb's we bought in when they were here.

Thanks for the info BRANDON. Talent is more about what's between his ears than it is what is attached to his shoulder.
He CHEWED out his TE last week and really it is HIS lack of leadership and composure that has derailed this offense the last 2 years.
He cannot complete a 5 yd pass. That is TALENT.

How long have you been listening to "Miles Speak".

Was that your first PC.
He has been saying all summer, Harris is a new man, We have changed the play book.
Even in the Press Conference he said, "this is the same offense. Yeah maybe but it sure looked different from starting with three running plays up the middle.
