Which route is the most scenic? I am driving from Prairieville with my wife and 3 kids, I would like to show the kids some pretty sites on the way.

HAHaaaa...

That was a BOOM.

Download Google Earth... it is your traveling friend, man.

Learn how to work the layers of "interest" and let it fly... it'll show every bar, a review of that bar from users... parks, shopping, scenic routes.. it's fricking awesome.

cut through Memphis and St. Louis to cut up the trip and there are things to do in both cities.

Not true my friend. Get to Shreveport and head up the Western end of Arky or Eastern end of Okie and it gets pretty scenic. There is a couple of different routes to take. Just depends how much time you have on your hands.

Probably the most scenic would be to catch I-40 West at Little Rock and then I-540 North through northwest Arkansas. I-540 North to Fayetteville is 45 miles of Ozark Mountains...there is even a short tunnel.

ozarks but that will take longer

if you go through STL, try taking backroads to Des Moines and then take I-80 to Omaha. The backroads in Iowa can be scenic.

These 5 hours make a day in Jack Bauer's life seem like a cake walk! Not much to see other than fields of crops and rising waters (depending on if flood waters are up). My wife and I did the same thing last year that you're going to do, we're flying next time!
