Once SEC coaches get tape on Etling and adapt to his style of play and Les doesn't change the offense all this will be for nothing. Les has to allow for a more open offense to try and take advantage of his skill set and if not you could simply put Harris back in.

Etling'so skill set lines up better with the offense miles runs.

Etling's first 4 passes:

2 to TEs
1 to RB
1 to WR

that was open enough for me

Bottom line is Harris still can't read defenses and Etling can. Harris doesn't go through his progressions and Etling does.

all that needs to change is to add a successful passing attack. if that happens our great running game will be even greater.

I don't give a damn what formation, who is thrown to or how many damn receivers are out there, if we can pass 40% of the time and complete 60% of them we are going to be bad arse.

for Etling to succeed, he NEEDS AN OL that blocks well. our tackles scare the shite out of me.

Miles has never tried to change his offense for any QB in his past 11 years. He admitted himself it's been the same offense running for as long as he can remember. What makes you think he would all of sudden change the offense for Etling?

Wake up people. It will be the same offense we see this weekend.

Agreed.....as long as the big uglies do their part MOST of the time, things look bright.

I'd also like to see some random roll outs to keep the dline honest as well. They did that at least once last Saturday and it went well.

People are now sleeping on LSU. With a serviceable DE and a healthy LF to go with Guice, this offense could be special.

I'm beginning to sense optimism creping in

I find it comical that people think the targets are an indication of the play calling or scheme. A screen pass, sure, but the rest of it is simply who the QB finds open.

For any of LSU's qb to succeed they need to completely change the offense. Need better formations and routes to get in a rhythm. It's pathetic how LSU barely has any receivers catch passes. I like that we utilized the tight ends and rb/fbs in the passing game, but we still only complete 3 catches to wide receivers in the entire game versus JSt? Yikes.

Bottom line.
He's smart enough to make what we run work if he has the protection.

Mostly need WR's to make plays and stop dropping the ball. Also, more Desean Smith and more screens and check downs to RB's.

Combos are fast food menu , not playsheet.

Well if the past is any indication he certainly won't change "his" offense for the QB. If anything he'll try to rely on Fournette and Guice more.
