in all 14 games last year....but watching that offense it wasn't very "efficent" I bet 5 years from now we will forget how shacky the offense was looking at that stat!

on another wierd note....LSU scored exactly 500 points last year...wish it would have been 522!

Just shows how good the special teams and defense were to pull up the slack!

I fell that if Mett can get the offense to above average offensive powerhouse and our defense should reload in spots and be amazing again. LSU will be positioned well to make another run!

I love baseball but i know it's coming to an end in about a month (with the Tigers dog-piling in Omaha) and then my footbal withdrawls will start kicking my arse full force!

I think our offense was actually one of the most efficient in the country, in terms of points per possession and points per yard.

Does that total include defense and special teams? If so then it is a legitimate point.

Our offense seem to where down other teams then put together some soul crushing drives in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

Another false myth. Outside of Uga , the tigers put up more yards with JJ under center and he had the best game of either qb against Arky.

Compared to other LSU O's, just where would you rate the 2011 scorinng offense then?

Which don't count. Only offensive TD's count.

You could post some proof to show how "shacky" it was.

But defensive and special teams TDs were included in the original poster's average of 35.71. Take away the defensive and special teams TDs and LSU averaged around 31 ppg. And of course that doesn't even take into account the offensive scores where the D or special teams put the offense right near the goal line (Mathie's INT against WV to the 1 yd line, Claiborne's INT against UT to the 5 yd line, Mathie's punt return inside the 10 against UGA, etc). The defense and special teams were very influencial in that 35.71 ppg.

I don't know. I still have nightmares about how inefficient the JJ led offense was against BAMA in the BCS Championship game. We may have put up more yards against the power houses of Western Kentucky and Ole' Miss but the vast majority of those yards were earned on the ground by our vastly superior running backs. The Western Kentucky game was particularly significant because the JJ led offence was up by only 7 at half time against a mid major team.

And none of the other great offenses in LSU history were?
You didn't answer my question.
Don't be chickenshit.

Lee vs. WVU >> JJ vs. Arky and it really isn't very close IMO

he was better, IMO, against UT, UF, Auburn, and MSU too

And that makes up for how many worse games of either QB against 'insert any team name besides Arky apparently'

Well the 3 games of highest Total O came from which QB?
Which QB played against the #5 D and the #1 D twice?
I'm not hatin on Lee, just showing you some light.

It was when Jarrett Lee was in the game not being hit.

That's what I don't understand about the hate for Stud. People will start threads about how terrible of an OC he is but until Miles made the call to go to "the name we shall not name" as QB, everything went to shite.

I like what I saw out of Stud's playcalling when a QB that was capable was in the game.

What is this "BCS Championship game" of which you speak? I have no memory of this thing but I do have a 24 gap in my memory from Jan 8 to Jan 10 of this year. Perhaps it happened then

Like this was never going to happen the rest of the season?
Both had their limitations and you have to be in denial to think LSU would have even been in the NCG if he hadn't been pulled.
