I'll take TCU's group who have played Blake Bell, Baker Mayfield, Mettenberger, and Garrett Gilbert.

Bell has only played in 3 games but has 835 yards and 6 TDs. He also has another 275 in rushing.

TTU who is (#3) in the country with 407 passing ypg, SMU (#7) with 361 passing ypg and LSU (#27) with 291 passing ypg.

Them against TCU?

- LSU 16/22 251 1 TD

- TTU 23/36 192, 2 INTs

- SMU 23/44 279, 2 TDs 4 INTs

- OU 20/31 157

FLASHING POINT: We have played the best secondary in the nation!!!

The best Florida has played is Miami at #38 with 274 passing ypg. Miami's WRs were green as most are freshman or have barely seen the field. Suffice to say, Florida has played nobody.

Even Miss State has played Troy ranked 10th, Oklahoma State ranked 22nd, and LSU ranked 27th.

Actually, Florida has played the worse rated passing teams of all mentioned in my post. The next best they have played are Kentucky at #71.

The rest are:
- Toledo at #92

- Arkansas at #109

- Tennessee at #111

There is no way to justify it saying "oh well that's because they've played UF which brought down their rankings". bullshite. Look what TCU has done to those powerhouse passing games they have played and THREE of them are still ranked in the top 30 passing offenses, two still in the top 10!

Florida is overrated at the point and vastly untested. They just lost Easley in the middle and Hill is a better runner than both of the Arkansas backs right now. We have already played the best secondary in the nation and had the best game against them than any other team they played.

Just to add to how we will demolish UF in Death Valley with a thunderous crowd as the next man up, Mississippi State gave up all of 55 points against its first four opponents, took a bye to prepare for LSU's offense, and still gave up 59 points and 571 yards of offense, AT THEIR HOUSE!!!

They don't want none.
- LSU 41 UF 17

Thank you. I still can't fathom why our fanbase is so scared of Florida every year. Tebow and urban are gone.

Florida's D is the "truth". It's not overrated.

Regardless of whether Urban has gone, they have still recruited at a high level. They have much better talent than anyone we have faced, excluding Georgia.

Their D is fast and nasty. They probably have the best group of three CB in the country in Purifoy, Hargreaves and Roberson. They will all play on Sundays.

Our D hasn't stopped anyone and, while UF's O isn't sexy, it's effective. They can pound the ball and our front seven can't seem to tackle or stuff anyone.

This game will be tough. I usually think good D beats good O.

LOL, continue to overlook who they have played and base everything solely on Florida is Florida. Do you also think UNLV, Miami, Louisville, and Cincinnati are the legit #1, #2, #4, and #7 pass defenses in the nation?

I'm not saying they suck or are mediocre. They are Florida, and their secondary is good, but best in the nation? They aren't on another level. Show me who they've played that was at least good at the time.

Miami vs Florida International:
Morris 15/27 160, 1 TD 1 INT

Miami vs Florida
Morris 12/25 162, 2 TDs 1 INT

Those were the first two games of the season mind you. Almost mirror images huh? Again I ask you, why are they deemed so great?

Yeah but this game is in Baton Rouge and we have a lights out pro style NFL type offense. I'd concede they stop us at 35 but if they score more than 17 points, our defense hasn't improved one bit.

I think the new look secondary will give Murphy fits. All the DL has to do is cause pressure and seal the inside. We can't let them just start running up the gut freely. We need to play a complete game. We have the mass on the line to do that but for some reason, they just aren't getting it done.

They threw 1 pick 6.

Why is everyone saying they threw 2?

And they had guys open in the 4th Q, when Muschamp started playing zone because it was clear the game was in hand.

I agree with you that good defense wins out over good offense. However, a good defense isn't gonna win out over a great offense. FTW.

I'll agree with that.

We'll find out if UF's defense is merely good, or great on Saturday.

florida's D will keep them in this game but their struggling offense isn't good enough to take advantage of what their D may give them. Met is playing with all the confidence in the World. If he throws in the area of OBJ and Landry they have a great chance to catch it. We may struggle against their D in the running game but we will find enough holes to make a difference.

This will be our biggest struggle for our offense because Florida is by far the best D we have faced and may face all year. LSU wins but we don't break 30

No way 41-17.

27-17. Florida defense is legit. Ours will be better this week.

i don't think these cb's will be better or more effective than tcu's. tcu' db's played incredibly tight (aided by ref's "let 'em play philosophy) and were very physical and played the ball about as good as it gets. sure, florida will get more pub but as the op says uf has not played the passing teams that tcu has.

that being said, florida has a better front 7 and will pressure mett more so we had better be able to execute plays designed to back off the pass rush. we don't seem to be able to run a successful screen pass play consistently and we throw a lot of middle screens which scare the hell out of me against a team like florida.

yea, florida actually has the same situation lsu has had the last few years. BUT, florida's kicking game is very weak and lsu's offense is very strong. imo, the game will come down to execution on key plays, field goal kicking, turnovers and other mistakes. the only thing that scares me is that our D WILL make multiple mistakes and WILL be soft against the run and WILL frick up the option read where the qb runs up the gut and WILL miss too many tackles.

this game is a pick 'em and take florida and the 7 points.
