Depends on how you define "year", because if you define it as 365 days, then it was not a Monday

We went from the cusp of greatness to now wanting to appreciate beating a 7-6 Arkansas team for a long time.

It was also my first day in the car sales biz.

Can't believe it's been five years.

Not going to lie, I had aspirations that LSU was going to come back in the second half.

All I need is one win over them, and it'll just be a day to me moving forward. There's just something about being in the dome that night to witness that fiasco. I can't shake that feeling of disbelief.

We were only trailing 9-0 or 12-0 at halftime, right?

You also have to remember the last two games LSU played. They were trailing Arkansas 14-0 in the "SEC West Championship Game" and UGA 10-0 in the SEC Championship, so sluggish starts and furious finishes were the norm for this team.

It's really weird that you guys mark this date, but not the dates for our 07 or 03 championships. Why do you hang on to the negative?

It was the most recent championship game we played in, and we haven't beaten that team since. It's pretty hard to forget.

uh, it's much more recent, was a horrific performance on the biggest stage, and started a decline where we haven't beaten since then.

That enough?

Everything changed on that day. Everything. Our swagger. Our national prestige. Our mindset. And now, the Tiger Nation is fixated on one thing, and one thing only...because nothing else will bring us back into the national discussion, nothing else will bring us back our pride, and NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. Period. Beat Bama, and everything changes, again, in our favor. Until then...we are in the turbulence of their greatness. Truth.

Five years has passed. Nobody on that team is still on the roster. Miles is gone.

Now, can they talk about why they played so poorly that night? There have been numerous rumors, from straying from the game plan, to Jordan Jefferson being at Harrah's the night before (that's according to Paul Finebaum), to some sort of locker room dispute, to just being flat because they didn't want to play Bama again. Rumor after rumor but nothing definitive. I almost wish they would do a 30 for 30 on it, because it was so inexplicable that we came out so flat on that stage after completing arguably the best regular season in college football history. And that's why it still resonates. The date and what has happened since. LSU never was higher than before kickoff that day, and has had a stunning fall from grace since.

Most frustrating head coaching effort I've ever seen. Pride of his own decisions got in the way of common sense to try something else. I don't know how we were able to recruit anyone on the offensive side of the ball with Les and Cam after that. Still pissed about that game!

I think there was one other game that season that LSU trailed late, but came back to win.

And people wonder why Miles didn't try something different on 1/9, he danced with the one who brung him is all.
