Fit QB To System or System To QB

To me , this is our main issue at QB. We have a dual threat QB that has the skill set for a spread offense. We run a run heavy version of the pro style offense that doesn't utilize or develop the QB s natural skills. We have 2 choices. Change the system to fit the existing QB or get a QB that will fit our system. We are trying to put a square peg in a round hole

Our offense is full of NFL throws that the majority of College QB's can't make consistently. Take Baker Mayfield at OU and put him in our offense and he probably plays just as bad. He is a Heisman contender in his system. Harris played especially bad last night but we don't seem to help him with easy throws to get into a rhythm.

Exactly. Notice Bama with the dink and dunk helps Coker get in a rhythm and build confidence for downfield throws

Yes and we throw it 2 miles down the field the first time we drop back to pass.

ALWAYS adjust the system to the QB. That's rule #1.

There is no sense recruiting a dual threat qb if you arent going to run a system that compliments that style. FACT
