I saw a thread titled "angriest you have ever been after an LSU game" and saw many people posting about very frustrating losses . Would like some feedback on some of your favorite and most exciting LSU games. So many come to mInd for me but the two that stand out the most for me (besides national championships) are the 03 Georgia game in Death Valley and the 01 SEC championship when Matt Mauck came in for Rohan Davey and showed out. Would love to hear yours. Merry Christmas Tiger Fans !!

Kicking the crap out of VT was pretty awesome. UF same year was pretty epic too. UF in 93? Was a lot of fun as well.

Florida '97

Florida in '07 was the first time in my life i walked out of Death Valley KNOWING we were the undisputed #1 team in the country.

I think Florida '97 because it was so unexpected. Then we came out blowing the Gators off the ball and had the old ball coach in his prime throwing that visor.

It was electric.

1980 Auburn game. I was a student there, so in the student section.

Write up in Dandy Don describes it better than I can:

quote:

1980 LSU 21 Auburn 17
This was a night the crowd helped the Tigers. The game seesawed back and forth as Malcom Scott put the Tigers ahead on touchdown reception. LSU lined up to punt late in the 4th quarter. Auburn broke through and blocked the kick and recovered the ball on LSU's 10 yard line. Jerry Stovall brought the team together and inspired them to hold on for 4 downs. On the first play, a wide open Auburn receiver dropped a sure touchdown pass. LSU held for two more downs and on 4t down, Marcus Quinn made a picturesque interception and almost returned it the distance, but more importantly LSU held on and ran out the clock to go to 4-2.

Only let me add my recollection that Quinn's was in the end zone (which seems logical given Auburn started on the 10).

That was actually homecoming, a rowdy time was had by all.

I could list so many but, the first Alabama game of 2011 is one of my favorite games and was a fricking roller coaster. I remember thinking we lost 4 times and then the defense would make a huge play that put them just outside field goal range. I actually jumped onto my coffee table and had an almost Tom Cruise on Oprah moment when we made the field goal to win.

Always obvious ones like UF 97 or 07, UGA 03, UT 00.

But when this thread pops up I always like to throw out Auburn 2001.

What a fricking amazing turn of events to play for the West championship against Auburn in the last game of the season after being postponed due to 9/11 and thinking we were done after shutting the bed against Ole Miss to fall to 4-3.

Especially since Auburn would have raped us early in that season.

But Auburn stomping on the eye, unsportsmanlike penalty called before the kickoff, Saban calling an onsides to start the game, and Michael Clayton cutting that punt returner in half early on.....the game was never in doubt. It was meant to be, and we fricking crushed their asses with our first trip to Atlanta on the line.

fricking amazing night in Tiger Stadium.

Man, good call. after what Matt Jones had done to us in 01 and 02 I was actually kind of nervous for that one. We were way better than them but something about Jones scared me.

But holy shite what a masterpiece. The D DESTROYED him, and wasn't even as close as the score showed (they scored a TD with under a minute becoming the only team to break 20 on us all season)

Knowing we were kicking arse on our way to Atlanta with a legit shot at a NCG birth made that a very special day indeed!!

Those purple sleeves looked clean as frick on a cold arse day without a cloud in the sky! Eric Alexander!!
