Since the last thread was deleted and this one will probably be too, let me rant.

Fans that post gloom and doom before the seasons start:
You are the worst of the worst of people that post here. Not sure you are really even LSU fans.
You try to take away the excitement of fans that look on a new season with renewed hopes of championships and excitement of what could be.
Your pathetic attempts of killing hopes and dreams of fans is saddening.
What outcome could you possibly hope to accomplish by bashing LSU before the players even get to the field?

Don't let them get you down. Most are miserable people with no hope left, I feel sorry for them. Some others just post shite to argue/flame/get a reaction, at least that is kinda funny sometimes.

there is nothing wrong with honest criticism and we should not react adversely to that. everyone has a right to their opinions.

BUT, I concur with your post as far as the same people hashing the same old complaints time after time after time. it is obvious that they either expect perfection or just hate our coaches (name the sport). I think many of these "fans" are not LSU fans at all. however, some probably are and they have their own axe to grind. many truly do not understand the sport they are lambasting. every play that doesn't work is due to the coaches; these idiots never competed at a high level and just don't understand the nature of competition at that level.

it pisses you and others off (including me) but, imo, the best thing is to ignore them.

Next Mike should be given a bigger cage and live food to chase around.
And a girlfriend.

I've said this before. The logic behind this behavior springs from two places, a desire to feel superior and the need to protect oneself from the pain of disappointment.

By setting their own expectations low, and decrying the opinions of those who are optimistic, they have the opportunity to be "right" and "smart" if their expectations are met. Simultaneously setting the bar low eliminates the possibility of disappointment if loftier expectations are not met.

It's a loathesome and pathetic way to live. And their lives are likely permanently colored with the dim petina of negativity.

But if it helps them to digest the reality of their brief, meaningless stint on this mortal coil, who am I to judge?

and randomly, out of the blue, too.

not just old age or cancer. weird shite no one expects.
a new avian flu.
a reaction to something over the counter.
I am impressed by the numbers relating to medications.
people always die from them, even stuff meant to cure something apparently simple.

yes, everyone dies, and few are "ready".
great scene at the beginning of the novel Pontoon.
people needing to finish whatever, when the angel of death comes calling.

LOL... I've been telling my doom and gloom friends for years that they're just too weak and expect the worse so their feelings don't get hurt. Thanks for reiterating my point.

I'm always excited about the upcoming season, but people have a right to be critical after the last 3 years.

Well, the answer to your 4th point, regarding outcome, can be found in your 1st point... might not be LSU fans.....

My thoughts are these. LSU's title hopes in Football this year come down to one position. Quarterback. Brandon Harris has to improve and show leadership and maturity. The question mark is can he handle the big stage of high expectations with the most returning talent this program has going into a season in a long time. I am as pumped as I have ever been for football. But my enthusiasm quickly becomes more tempered when I start evaluating my confidence in the quarterback position. He'll have to prove it to me on the field.

Baseball is all gravy from this point. With virtually an entire new roster, 19 conference wins, and hosting a Regional is something I didn't expect.

Basketball...I won't even go there other than hiring a new coach must take place as soon as possible.

All other sports, I don't follow closely enough to comment but I always hope the Tigers win.
