Find me one who will pay face value for any game other than Bama...

I am not going to condem anyone for leavign early that has what they feel is a legitimate reason, but as they panned the stadium with the camera it sure made me sick to my stomach to see that.

Were you at the game? Nothing like someone complaining about other fans leaving early when they don't show up at all.

People just need to realize that Tiger Stadium is not the same Tiger Stadium of the old days. I used to recognize everyone in my area and they were usually there for every game. There are still a couple that are left but now there is someone new every game and most of them leave before or right after half time. Ever since the tradition fund was established, it seems each year that someone might give up their tickets or just sell them due to cost.

This

Same for my seats.

I really don't know when or why it happened, but to many people now, tailgating/social crap is more important than the game. I don't get it. For many people, especially the "I am a trendy chick and I am going to wear my boots even though it is 80 degrees" crowd, LSU football to them is showing up to tailgate, taking some suitable Facebook pics, hanging out at the game for a little while, then leaving. It all makes for a great story around the water cooler on Monday morning. It sounds cooler to say you went tailgating that it does to say you went to the game.

I suppose people can come and go as they please to the games, I just don't get the concept of paying for tickets and not staying for the whole thing.

So you'd rather a partially full stadium at kickoff?

And if it's arrogant to "want to do whatever the hell I want" with my money, I'll make you a deal: I'll stay away from the stadium, and in exchange, you have to stay away from message boards, online chats, coaches call-in shows, post-game call-ins, emails and tweets to media personalities, and glory holes.

Personally, I'm hoping some of my dollars go to that new SEZ expansion so I can sit there and then abruptly leave, letting the national television audience view it in all of its newness.

Some of us don't live in BR or the surrounding areas.

I have two elementary school aged kids and a baby. If I were still living in BR I would either leave them at home or not go. None of them GAF about football so why would I drag them to TS for even a portion of the game?

I'm not going to tell anyone how to raise their kids or do certain things with their family.

That being said, I'm pretty sure people have been bringing their kids to LSU games, since, well, forever. Amazing how leaving early because of the kids was never a problem before the last couple of years.

There was no excuse for Tiger Stadium to be empty in a two score SEC game going into the 4th quarter. None. I can't get over how much the fanbase has changed since I graduated in 07.

The recent election confirms that it is not only ok, but it is mandatory that you tell others how they must behave, how to spend their money, what they must like and dislike, what they should eat and of course, exactly what they should think. Others are now experts about your life conditions. I can't wait until we are taxed for all of it too.

It wasn't my intent to "tell people how to raise their kids". I'm honestly just trying to understand how it is that half the people who go to games now have family obligations that prevent them from staying. As you just said, this never seemed to be an issue in the past.

I've never spend a second giving two shits why people choose to do what they do. I go to a game to enjoy a game.

That being said, in the days before EVERY game was broadcast on national television, a home game could typically be expected to last about 2 1/2 hours, AT THE MOST.

OK, that's legit. Nearly all of our games are televised nowadays and that does make for a long game.

My guess is they sat in the contraflow until 1am after the Alabama game, and didn't want to risk it.

If these ridiculous threads do nothing else, they always seem to act as perfect barometers of how long certain posters have been following LSU football.

Why even go to the games then?!!!! I get that you have young tired kids, I have two young boys that would be tired and cranky too in those circumstances but it sounds like you planned poorly. Here's a suggestion: give your tickets to fans that care more about the game than all the other stuff, you can go to all the parades and parties and tailgates you want and our team will be supported by real fans when they need it.

Won't be long people will want to post somebody and the gates to make sure you have a valid reason to leave. This is going to really be helpful.......
