Lots of doubles today.

Jake Slaughter and Josh Smith are the real deals. I was very impressed. Especially with Jake. Templet looks like he'all be a good player one day too. Tough facing Lange as a freshman.

Hess did not look as sharp as his first outing. The first inning he pitched Freeman led off with a double in the RC gap then moved to third on a ground out to second by Duplantis. Robertson then drove him home with a ground ball to a drawn in third baseman whose throw home was in time but Freeman avoided the tag to score. Deichmann and Papierski were then put out in order. The next inning, Romero led off with a single followed by a free pass to Reid. Templet moved both runners up with a grouinder to first. Templet then struck out and coach called it a game.

He had trouble getting ahead whih meant fastballs down the middle. He needs to learn that he can't do that no matter the count vs an SEC team. He has good stuff. Showed a really good change. But he's not at the level Lange was as a freshman even if he throws as hard and had the HS numbers. He will learn.

I noticed that his secondary pitch was coming in at 84-87mph, with the exception of one at 76. Do you know what he throws beside the heater?

Great to hear that Jake and Josh are doing well. I heard Watson and Adams are impressive as well so far. I'd really like to see Adams take control of 1st base so we can move Greg D to the OF.

Adams swings and misses too much. PM was coaching him up a lot today. I, too would like him to play well enough to solidify first. But Templet is no slouch.

Deichmann and Romero are both DHing for the Gold (A) team. I think both are dealing with sore arms.

See above. He had a double today. But it was a late swing that got up in the wind and the walk on didn't play it very well in RF. Most days that's an out. I need to see him with better plate discipline.

I've heard that Deichmann has a foot issue and Romero has a sore shoulder on his throwing side.

Didn't Deichmann have a foot issue last year? I know he's only hitting.

Adams is doing better than last year so far this fall. He's 4-10 with 4Ks and a 2b. I don't think he has looked good with the mitt at first; Too many missed scoops.
