Does he have the chest?

What time is the scrimmage on Friday, if there is one? I'm thinking about going while I'm in BR.

Hunter, not Gunner. I hope he has the chest, he looked pretty good on the mound. Friday's scrimmage is scheduled for 4:00 pm, but its never a sure thing.

OK thanks Scuba, hopefully it'll work out. It's been a while since I've been to the Box.

No Josh Smith? He batted like .340 in a college summer league this summer

I don't recall seeing Smith on the field yet. I know he has not played in either scrimmage.

I try to make every scrimmage and I enjoy keeping an abbreviated score sheet. It only takes a few minutes to post them on the rant. I hope that fans that can't make it out to the box get something positive from my efforts.

I went to the tournament at Minutemaid Park in '15 and really enjoyed it. I'm glad the Tigers are playing there again this coming season. Looking forward to attending.

Thanks Scuba. Does the Kiel kid have stuff or just a hard thrower with a flat fastball?

Coach Mainieri said on the radio show yesterday evening that he (smith) is dealing with an ankle ailment and will be seeing a doctor in the coming days and prognosis will determine his availability for the remainder of fall.

I was sitting in the gold seats behind the plate while he was pitching and first thing I noticed was how large he looked on the mound, and second was his delivery which was kindof weird. Threw alot of FBs, almost all of which were clocked 95, but he threw a couple slider/cutters that were NASTY. Hope he turns out more like Nick Goody than Riley Smith for the Tigers!

I've heard a lot of good things about Slaughter. Hasn't K'd yet, making plays all over the place at SS, and has one of the top exit speeds on the team. Plus he's 6'3" 200 and can run with damn near anyone on the team.

After only two scrimmages, he and Templet are most impressive of the freshmen position players.

Thanks, Scuba, for your fine work during the Fall scrimmages.

Here is part of a news release that will be going out later today.

LSU NO. 7 IN COLLEGIATE BASEBALL RECRUITING RANKINGS; TIGERS IN TOP 10 FOR NINTH TIME IN 10 YEARS

BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU is No. 7 in the 2016 Collegiate Baseball magazine recruiting rankings released on Monday, marking the ninth time in 10 years the Tigers are in the Top 10 of the survey.

LSU was No. 1 in the recruiting rankings in 2007, 2010 and 2014; No. 3 in 2009; No. 4 in 2012; No. 7 in 2011 and 2015; and No. 10 in 2013.

The 13-man recruiting class includes seven pitchers and six position players. The new Tigers have engaged in conditioning drills and individual workouts with the returning LSU players over the past month, and the team held its first full-squad workout of the fall practice session on Sunday.

So two scrimmages and Romero has not played in field yet? Looks destined to just DH?

Wednesday (off day)
Thursday 5:00
Friday 4:00

Thanks for posting Scuba. If you need weekly schedule, email me at Goose11262@yahoo.com and I'll email you weekly when I get it .
