Our hitting could suck a lot this year.

I've been followong the stats posted and it's not looking good. I asked one of the players I know yesterday if it was just great pitching or what. He said be optimistic the pitching is really good. I have my doubts these numbers are because of our pitching

It's hard to tell from scrimmages, but it may be some of both. I do feel really good about our pitching staff this year (admittedly without seeing these), but that's probably not the only reason our hitting numbers are so low.

I feel good about our staff too but the starting three of Shore, Puck, and Faedo (spelling) are gonna be tuff to beat

Only a couple of the seventeen batters tonight had any significant at bats against D1 pitching last year as opposed to 4 of the 5 pitchers used, pitched a lot last year. I think some of our new players will come around with more ab's against quality pitching.

Gold whips Purple? Were you even at the game? Not what I saw.... The only reason the score ended 3-2. Was PM rule and Gold got 4 outs the last inning. Scored the run after the 3rd out.

Hitting does not look good other then Deichmann... Who walked 2 or 3 times tonight. Pitching looks good.

I would agree with you, but I get to watch two sometimes three times a week.

When you only get 2 maybe 3 at bats a day.... I don't believe you get a real feel for our hitting. Greg looks real good. The rest will come. Beau Jordan and the Ducote kid, can hit.

except none of those pitchers who threw in the scrimmage today strike fear in very many batters. It doesn't seem to matter who is pitching, the batting looks the same. Hitting is going to really suck this season. We're going to need to play ball like UCLA did a couple of years ago to get to .500
