4 Laird 0-1

Pitchers

The Gold team was being shut out, by Smith's 1 hitter, until the bottom of the 5th when Strall came into the game. They put together a rally by getting 5 hits and a walk to score 4 runs. Highlight was Pap's 3 run HR just inside the right field foul pole.

There was a new walk on playing center field today filling in do to the absence of Beau Jordan. I don't have any personal info on him at this time.

Ex-players in the dugout today: Andrew Stevenson, Cade Scivicque, and Chris Chinea.

Good for Pap. It looks like he's having a great fall. I thought that Romero was going to challenge him for the starting position, but he does not appear to hitting worth a damn. How has Romero looked behind the plate?

Romero has looked pretty good behind the plate. He has thrown out 7 of 21 base stealers so far and blocks balls well. He seems comfortable with handling the pitchers except for a problem with Smith, today.

Duplantis has had 3 multi hit games this fall. This was his first with two extra base hits. He seems to have the speed to take an extra base if the fielders aren't quick to get the ball in.

Thanks for everything, Scuba. ccox had a question for you about yesterday's scrimmage: Did Lochridge play for both teams, or was that a typo? He's trying to keep up with the stats.

I saw you at the scrimmage yesterday but didn't say hi because you made me go to Facebook to find out what time it was.

I also stole a Coaches Committee hotdog even though I'm not a member of the coaches committee.

My first screw up this fall. Playing 1st for the purple should be Wofford, not Lockridge.

I think I saw you as well, second set of purple seats behind the dugout. I also thought about copping a freebee but decided against it.

Are the lineups split evenly or is one of the teams more veteran/projected starters than the other?

Generally all 6 veteran position players are on the same team.
