Look, before you start flaming let me say I 100% agree our Defense is the strength of the team and has been for some years, however, I strongly feel the D gets too much credit and the O too little by many of you..a few facts to consider from past 3 years where we are 34-5

Defense failed to stop Bama on last drive this year after O gave us 4 pt lead (should have been more, but give up 6 so easy was on the D)

Wihtout O and special teams we lose to UM this year...easy to see

Ark loss in 10 was at least 50% due to D breakdowns, incl 80 yard pass before half
Aub loss in 2010 we gave up 450+ yards and 65 yard run in 4th q when we were tied
UF loss this year on O or course
NC game on O, but D gave up tons of yards, special teams also failed us

Wihtout strong O we maybe lose to WVU and Oregon in 2011, UNC, UF, UM and A&M in 10...sure our offense is the relative weak spot, but the D shares in some of the biggest losses and near losses...

Ehh yea bad coaching decisions, but for one of the top Defenses in the country they let down the team. They needed one stop and couldn't do it.

wow, have to disagree, do you not give Les any credit for a 4 point lead over #1 team with 1:30 left in the game, so he gets no credit for first 58:30, but all blame for last 1:30? BTW which Coach, Chavis is in charge of the defense, or again is that only true when they play well?

Four of our last seven opponents outgained us in total yardage.
Without four or five turnovers, we lose to TAMU.
MSU going for tying score when we intercept aned return for 100 yds.
OBJ can be thanked for an 89 yd awesome PR to bail us out against OM.
Jarvis Landry catch-of - the -year ditto against Arky.
' We're 10-2 but good fortune helped at the end (yes, Bad fortune cost us several players, too).

Yes, like Les Miles himself was on the field and let AJ McCarron throw the ball all day.

I completely disagree about the bama game. ST's, lack of red zone eff, failed 4th and 1 conversion. That being said, both sides played extremely well.

LSU was up 30-17 when that happened, with 1:13 left in the game.

this is complete horseshite.

if miles coached the D, everyone would jump on the D for dropping the game. bottom line was, the D makes the stop, we win the game. plenty of blame to go around the whole game, but the D players and chavis definitely deserve some for the last drive.

The scheme has got to change for LSU on defense.

Silly stuff! We'll get at least three turnovers from TAMU next year too. That style of offense always racks up yards against us and turns it over a lot. It's not luck. It's by design

bullshite! Tigers were up by 13 when Miss State was driving and Loston intercepted.

So what? Lot's of people can be thanked. It was a play in the game. Les puts a lot of work into ST. It paid off. Great coaching!

You probably put the loss to UF on the D also. Red zone eff on Offense is the key factor that held this team back. JMO though.

Coaching failed us against Bama. I love Miles but sometimes it feels like he and his staff aren't even trying to win.

The defense gave up 21 points against Bama. Yea, they gave them up in stupid ways, but giving up 21 points to the #1 team in the country isn't too bad. The problem is that the offense can't be counted on to put up 21 points in any game.

The offense put up a ton of yards against Bama but could not translate them into points. If we could convert in the red zone the defense would have been in a position to lose on a last minute TD.

If you're counting on your defense to hold every team to 14 points then you're going to be disappointed. Your offense NEEDS to be able to put up points consistently. 17 points a game isn't going to cut it.

no, I did not, and again, not saying D is not a strength for us-it is, just saying that the O is not as bad as many say, we would be in SECCG and one win from NC vs. ND if the defense had held Ala instead of giving up a TD in 1 minute on 5 plays, blown assigments to boot, even OT we may have won....
