And until it stops we're going to continue to struggle against elite talent.

We can help close the gap in recruiting with Steele and Coach O but it's not going to make any difference if we keep losing all our best underclassmen to the draft. Yes there will always be some that will go but if we can just get a few guys to stay we'd be a lot more competitive. We had 3 defensive players that got drafted that had another year of eligibility. If that talent and experience returns you can bet this is a more dominant defense.

Jalen Collins took a red shirt so he would have been a 5th year guy

Kwon and Danielle both left as juniors

I'm not faulting any of them individually but if Les could convince just some of these guys to stay and try to win a championship it would really benefit the overall talent on the roster.

With those 3 guys on the team, Saturday night turns into a much more competitive defensive game.

I agree. However, I assume Bama has just as many leave early

Guys leaving the program for personal reasons or getting kicked off the team have hurt us just as much.

Well when you prode yourself as NFLU and being the quickest possible way to the NFL, what do you expect.

It's good for recruiting I suppose, but players want to get paid.

There were 2 def lineman who left the team back around the fall. Don't remember the names

first of all, every school worth a damn has early entry's in the draft. also, I think we kept most of our juniors last year.

if a kid needs the money you can't fault them for leaving. many of them have children and are pretty broke.

Bama has the same issues just like ALL college football programs deal with each and every year. Nice excuse for the results though.

The "exodus" was 3 years ago. Plenty of time for us to make up for it. Losing just 3 underclassmen is a very low #. And Bama loses just as many as we do.

Right. But we've had years where guys bolt and then don't get drafted.

CLM'S coaching philosophy has hurt LSU. This style wasn't his at OK State. He has evolved in the wrong direction

Bama has a lot of guys leave early, there is a difference though. When our guys get a second or third round grade, they usually come back to school. Mark Barron, CJ Mosley, Reggie Ragland...all of these guys would have been drafted in round 2-3 had they come out after their junior year.

We have guys that are going no matter what (pagan, Hubbard) but for the most part our big contributors trust Saban's advice on stay or go. So far it has paid off for both parties, as those mentioned above went/will go in the first round

Saban usually gets back the guy that he really needs. Like us really needing to return beckwith and our ends.

Wasn't just the draft, we lost 2/3 contributors on the DL this year pre-season.

We could have REALLY used that depth Saturday night.

Can't blame Kwon. He might be NFL DROY.

Not really if it's at key positions.

If we lost Beckwith, White and Dural this year we will have some big question marks going into next season.

If we lose the above 3 and Hawkins (although I'd have to think his stock went down after Saturday) it would be silly to think it wouldn't be a huge blow to the team.

Yeah what a terrible decision by Kwon.

Definitely the right decision. I'd think a year with coach O and Hunter likely improves his stock in the draft.
